@kkslider5552000 I think that was what they were going for. If they wanted to make a ''true'' 3D game, they would've done it. It was 2010, not 1995. There are plenty of third person shooters and adventure games to take inspiration from. So I think it was a conscious decision to opt for something that is 3D, but resembles the 2D games (as you said, like 3D Land).

What's up, broheem!??? Hope you've been doing well. I wish I had time to list all of the atrocities that exist in Mehtroid: Other Meh but I've already taken everyone to school on it before and I'm positive no one wants to hear it all again.

So, in lieu of saying something negative about Other M, I'll be positive.

Metroid: Other M is not the worst Metroid game in the franchise. Not anymore! That esteemed title now belongs to Metroid Prime: Federation Force / Metroid Prime: Blast Ball. This deadly combo of Federation filth is so bad that it only sold 100,000 copies world wide!

And for good reason too. (Do I really have to explain?) It's as if Nintendo loved Other M so much they had to go and make a game exponentially worse just to elevate it's rank within the franchise.

I like that this is in "other gaming" so I can continue to tell myself that it's just one big prank instead of a game that really exists on the Wii and Wii U.

Gameplay wise it wasn't too bad. I bit linear and the atmosphere and sense of isolation was lost but it was a fun game woth decent bosses.

The story and characterisation was a steaming pile of post-Vindaloo S-bend flow but I somehow was able to overlook that. Also several bits made no sense and the Varia Suit restriction remains a sore spot which coupd have been easily rectified. Adam should have fitted a restriction chip into Samus' power suit and had to unlock features remotely. They could have had the signal be jammed by the environment hence forcing her through the heated area without it until the signal could get through.

My biggest gripe was the insistence of using only the Wii Remote. 3D movement with only the d-pad never felt natural and the switch to first person to use missiles that also fixed you to a certain point was annoying as it left you exposed and the view transfer was too long leaving you open to attack.

A decent game, but probably one of Metroid's lower points.

And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
