Oh man, Gravity Rush 2's music—its music! Like, the district tracks for the town!? Oh my god! December is going to be gaming hedonism month.

Speaking of GR2, I usually try not to be too superficial, but...

This game is absolutely incredible looking. Pure eye candy.

Ugh. Men.

@DefHalan Agreed, it's definitely too expensive for what I can get out of it. There's not much games on PS Now that I desperately want to play and can't in another shape or form. I'm going to give the free trial a go just to see how it all works and how smooth everything runs, but I don't think I'll be making more use of it anytime soon.

@Relizah Don't think I can get into Persona 5 (although it looks visually very stunning), but The Last Guardian and Gravity Rush 2 will definitely be mine!

Maybe I'll grab the physical release of Hitman as well, depending on the content. There's an Attack on Titan game coming too; I'm definitely going to await the reviews on that game. Licensed games tend to be crappy you know..

This season, I'll get Ni No Kuni 2 (whenever that comes out), Gravity Rush 2, and the Last Guardian

@Octane Yeah, I'm really skeptical about the upcoming AoT game. It'd be very easy to mess up. I've heard the new episodic Hitman game is pretty decent, but the fact that people are reporting that they're getting booted out of missions when their online connection drops concerns me.

As to The Last Guardian, forgive me, but there's another trailer I must repost...

Not sure if it's the music, the editing, or some combination of various factors, but I CANNOT watch this trailer without tearing up. It's the weirdest thing.

Ugh. Men.

Octane

@Ralizah I've heard good things about Hitman, and I'm not really interested in the user created or anything that requires an online connection, so I'm not worried about that. I just want none of that episodic bussiness. Just release your games when they're ready please.

That trailer is amazing indeed. Music's good; but the idea that we're finally getting another Team Ico/Ueda game after more than a decade is what makes this trailer for me. The gameplay demo from last year was pretty cool, but this trailer is the confirmation that it's really coming this year. I absolutely cannot wait!

@Octane My understanding is that, even just playing normal story missions, the game will kick players back out to the menu screen if it has server issues or drops connection. Also, apparently the game maintains separate save files depending on whether you're online or offline when playing the game.

I heard about all of this months ago, though. These issues might be a thing of the past. I hope so. Blood Money and Silent Assassin were two of my favorite games on the PS2.

Ugh. Men.

@Ralizah Playing offline shouldn't cause any issues then, right? That's what I'm planning to do anyway, and from what I understand, anything that doesn't need an internet connection (story mode), can be played offline. Still, even if it's an issue, it'll be a while before the complete version is released, it may be already fixed at that point then.

Nothing about XV really appeals to me, which is something of a bummer considering I'm a lifelong FF fan. I'm probably going to end up focusing on Valkyrie Drive in September and Disney Magical World 2 in October (because, even given its performance issues, I really enjoyed the first game). I'm unsure about whether I want to spend full price on The Last Guardian or not. I'll probably wait for reviews.

I'll admit that I'm not expecting perfection here. Final Fantasy has always been a mixed bag for me, but one that I usually find something to enjoy. I usually go in hoping one or two aspects really appeal to me, and the most I hope for is that the rest doesn't impede that particular aspect. Like FFV, for example, I went in hoping for a flexible job system that would give me plenty of reasons to grind just so I could play around with it. The rest of the game didn't have to be phenominal, which actually made it easier for me to appreciate everything about the game. I don't always advocate having low standards, and I'm generally terrible at keeping my expectations nuetral, but this way I can get as close as possible for a series that I otherwise never know what to expect from going in.

In this case, I'm going in with the hopes that I'll enjoy the general mood and atmosphere, and taking in the sights. The game is being billed as a "road-trip adventure", and the demo that came with Type-0 really reinforced that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed in the hopes that everything else will at least be serviceable. There were definitely some glints of good characterization through idle chat from the characters, and I really like where they're going with the combat. It's really weighty, but that just sells the whole "realistic fantasy" thing I've been onboard with since it was being refered to as Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

I still don't expect it to light any fires, but hey, every countryside road trip's gotta have the occasional campfire, right?

REmake is a masterpiece, and I say this as someone who isn't even that fond of the first RE on PS1. If you've never played it in some form before, you really need to do so. The RE games and I usually don't see completely eye-to-eye, but REmake is seriously an almost perfect game.

Sorry to hear about your health issues. Hope they're nothing too serious.

I really got into the PSOne Director's Cut version - it was clunky and ugly, but to me that just sold the whole B-movie vibe. Plus, it was a fun old-school adventure with some light resource management mechanics that on normal or hard would probably be quite stressful, but on easy is just within my sweet spot of "difficult but not impossible." Plus, Easy mode removed any amount of genuine terror I might've felt, which alone makes it much more enjoyable for me by the virtue of me not wanting to put the game down every time I have to turn a corner, since now I genuinely know I can handle anything it throws at me (except that snake boss! That was the worst!).

But REmake is something I've wanted to play since I first saw a preview article for it in a Nintendo Power magazine. I've also seen bits and peices of it in videos and streams, and it certainly looks like something I should give a shot. It'll probably come down to whether or not it goes on sale before Oct 26th.

Criminal Girls is... interesting. I nabbed the first one in a sale for $14. The battle system is totally weird and unique. It involves gradually building up a pool of skills among the different girls and then accepting suggestions from them about what you should do each turn. The infamous "motivation" minigames are what you use to build up your reservoir of new skills, so you'll have to engage in them quite often. The plot is nothing special, as you might have guessed, although the game does attempt to develop the girls somewhat as characters. It's interesting if you can get it cheap. I wouldn't pay over $20 for it, though.

And that's the censored version! I saw an article for the changes they made to the first one, and I'm really baffled that they ever decided to localize it at all. They really had to gut those scenes you mentioned, though they supposedly left in all (read: too much) of the Japanese dialogue, a mistake they're making sure they correct this time around.

That said, it's a different dev now, apparently. The first Criminal Girls was something the late Imageepoch squirted out some time before their CEO supposedly disappeared and ultimately closed the company (so...the game was a desperate cry for help, I guess). We'll see whether or not this new one was just cobbled together from their leftovers, or if someone else in Nippon Ichi genuinely had they felt the series could go.

...personaly, I'm still guess the former, from what I've seen...the trailer in that article is very NSFW, btw. But the gameplay details in the article body should be enough to illustrate my point.

Yeah, the game really tempts me, especially with those customizable mecha, but I have a hard time just giving anything developed by CH the benefit of the doubt. I'll pick it up eventually if it reviews well.

That boobed robot is either the best or worst thing I've seen all week. Hard to say which.

As to its boob fixation, have you seen what comes with its limited edition?

Not gonna lie, that was word-for-word what I said when I first saw that. And yes, I saw the limited edition. I believe they announced it about 5 minutes after I decided it might be a game worth paying attention to. I don't even understand the appeal of those Mousepad boob things. Then again, I don't understand the point of boobs on a combat-ready robot, either...

FF XIII killed my interest in the franchise anymore. FF XV sure as hell is not changing my mind right now.

That bugs me about the PS4. It gets so hot.

Say what you will about Nintendo systems, but they are definitely the most energy efficient systems I have ever used. My Wii and Wii U rarely ever get hot, even after hours of play. My PS3 and 4 are hot as hell after a couple of hours.

I think neo will look similar to regular ps4. Softer edges with more premium finish, like brushed metal.

@Lzeon - I've gone through two PS3 slims due to overheating, so that's definitely a valid concern.

It makes no sense to me. Nintendo, who is supposedly "so far behind", can make a system that lasts longer than Sony

A game like FF15, you'll need to wait for the reviews. Could go either way as far as I can tell.

It's dangerous to go alone! Stay at home.

A game like FFXV you just buy out of sheer curiosity.
