First party PS5 games will be $70/€80.

Probably means £60 and up here.

I'm buying one because the low cost of the series S means I can sell my current One S and upgrade for a tiny price.
I love Gears, Halo, Forza Horizon and Fable. And while those definitely don't equal the exclusives Playstation has, the far superior backwards compatible on Xbox makes up for that difference quite a bit.

I also think it makes sense to have one console that's digital and the other that still has discs, so it makes sense to go with Xbox for digital and Sony for physical. Xbox digital being £100 cheaper, but also better suited for digital because of Gamepass.

The only thing I'm not liking so far are the prices. €80 is going to be the new standard. Destruction All-Stars will be DOA at that price.

Even Sackboy is €70, which is an absolute joke. At least they drop in price soon enough. Imagine if Nintendo starts adopting these prices.

@Octane BotW did £60 even before PS4/XB1 did so probably expect BotW 2 to be £70.

@Grumblevolcano Yeah, very true. I was kinda shocked when I learned it was €70 on the eShop. At least it was below €60 in retail though.

If you guys hear of us stores opening preorders, end post here, please tag me on it. The sudden drop after making us sign up is pretty darn frustrating.

Just saw that PS5 is going to cost $749.95 here at launch and the digital-only will be $599.95.

Pretty expensive at a time when a lot of people have either lost their jobs or have had their hours cut. It looks like an impressive console but not sure it'll fly off the shelves early on. Time will tell.

Getting a launch lineup is great but I'm just happy we got actually dimensions now, made a mockup out of cardboard and the thing is indeed an absolute unit!

Gamestop was a no go, said come in the morning, no chance of that. Hopefully I can secure a disc version from somewhere!!!

@redd214 And, sold out. It was there, disc only when I first loaded the page, tried to find digital, and both gone at Walmart. Nobody else is showing them online.

@NEStalgia Didn't expect you to pre-order one this soon. Anyway, I believe they were making around 10 million of them at launch. I doubt they will sell out. I think they had 5 million for the PS4 launch.

I think Persona 5's presence in that weird Game Pass thing is probably a pretty good indication that the game is going to stay Sony-exclusive for the foreseeable future.

@TheFrenchiestFry If anything, my interest has swung HARD away from PS5 today. FFXVI looks bland, Miles Morales and Horizon 2 aren't exclusives, and the majority of third party stuff will hit Xbox anyway. For the same price as a PS5, you can get a dramatically more powerful system with full backwards compatibility with generations of games or, in an even better deal, a diminutive $300 console that is saving us money by ignoring the high-resolution horse race.

Also, the PS5 looks like a douchebag with a popped collar, and I prefer attractive consoles.

I made the right choice opting to for PC again, I think.

@NEStalgia PS5 is getting a bunch of cross-gen "exclusives" and a bunch of XSeX's games will likely end up being next-gen exclusive anyway. The world has gone mad.

@Octane That would be cool if so. I didn't really expect I'd do it either. Series x is probably the more important one so I'll be a basket case on Tuesday. No idea how XAA and "buy before their gone" coexist. Not like either console has exclusives now, it seems. SeX upgrades several hundred games (not costing 70.....) Whereas this is mostly for exclusives. But my pro goes on the fritz at times and i tried and failed with that kh3 pro last year as spare.

Technically my goal is to try to preorder 2 of each. Always buy consoles in pairs on the house... Game share works well (hopefully that still works on 5) and it's easier to get both machines together. So far I'm not feeling confident in that. Maybe with luck Sony actually uses the sign up and i get emails tomorrow. The major retailers we all know are mostly selling to scalpers and bots. The Sony sign up was tied to PSN id so no scalpers.

Mostly Nintendo has me paranoid that if you miss the 15 minute availability, you're hosed for 6 to 12 months.

We'll see. Hopefully it'll be smoother sailing tomorrow. Not like i don't have consoles and games. But it's nice to go out of your way to get robbed.

Not sure being on east coast time helps either. I miss when preorder started 10pm e3 night....

@Ralizah lol, all so very true. Ff exclusivity is so weird to me. After decades of exclusivity, out finally broke free, all platforms get the series... And then it goes back in the box?

Though it could be a year of dreams trick. I might launch in 6 years on ps5 right when ps6 it's coming out and then get to jump on WiiNotLuvU and XSeXY2.

Holy crap, dude, Demons Souls is going to PC. Is PS5 even going to have any exclusives?
