Long ago, I had an RPG game for the PC, and this one known as "The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind". I had lots of fun on the game. I still have the game and the first 2 expansion packs. I do have the game for Xbox, but that version isn't as good as the PC version due to the loading and save times. The PC one loads and saves faster.
Well, anyway, I really liked to play Morrowind and Oblivion on PC. Played Morrowind longer and used much more plug-ins. Oblivion made a huge step for technical quality and controlls, but the game lost all its edges. It is also strange, that my favorte race - the Argonians - do look very different in every TES game they appeared.
i have Morrowind, but I can't get into it though. The combat feels kinda wierd and after getting used to that red quest marker from Oblivion,it's kinda hard to find what your supposed to find like a certain character, place or item. Modding it is fun as heck though. I remeber running around with my Kadaj wielding Sephiroths sword,a lightsaber and Dantes guns.
I hear its amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on hari-kiri rock!!! I NEED SCISSORS!!! 61!!!

I get lost up in this game to the point where I have not made it far. I just like roaming around in it. I have the PC game of the year edition. I had the XBOX version but it always locked up every single time, so I bought the PC version. I am not big on the series but Morrowind is still a good game.
Morrowind was epic fun - walking through the massive world, and making up your own objectives as you go was the whole point - I never completed the "story" but I did log hundreds of hours doing side quests, or making up my own objectives - like wiping out entire town populations
Oblivion lost it on me - I'm not a fan of enemy stats scaling as your character's level improves. It greatly dulls the feeling of progression.
Morrowind...gosh, I have so many wonderful Nastalgia-filled memories that tie back to that game. It's incredibly hard for me not to cry while hearing the theme song... During my summer break back in 07', I played the game from sunrise to sunset, literally. I would play this game untill around 10 a.m. in the morning (when I HAD to sleep). I remember that my dad had to go to work at 3:00 a.m. each morning, so I would routinely use towels to cover the light that would shine through the opening under my door so that he wouldn't catch me playing morrowind. (btw, I played the original version on my Xbox) One day he caught me playing morrowind and forced me to stop and told me that he'll take my DS away if I continued playing... well, once he went to work, I continued on my quest to become The Nerrevarine. There was one incident that i'll never forget while playing morrowind...I remember that a moth flew into my room...(I'm PARANOID of bugs/ flying things that are attracted to light) ....and so I was darting all around my room for several hours, trying to kill the moth.(sounds pathetic....and it is....) after about 3 hours it managed to land right on my bed, and it went towards me!! seriously, that thing was trying to eat me or something! I screamed so loud that I managed to wake up my whole family....I couldn't stop shaking after that incident, I was trembling...(well, I was 11 yrs old at the time...)Its simple memories like that that made me love morrowind even more...And of course lock picking into Vivecs castle and slaying him with all my Deadric armor equiped ...If there's any town i'll live in, it has to be Balmora. I know that city from head to toe, all its residents, all the glitches...everything...Morrowind has changed my life ( I probably sound obsessed.......) It made me forget about the real world for a month and immersed me in the world of elves/Kangaroo kittehs/oger things/magic/mystery/mystical magic things....(I thought I coundn't get into Harry potter-like stuff....) I it made me realize why I love video games so much. ALL those hours spent on playing the game were worth it. Best game ever (for me because of the Nastalgia factor)
(Sorry for the wall of text, coudn't explain my love for morrowind in a sentence or two...)
I never really played it since at the time it was released I didnt have a PC capable of running games like that and I didnt own an Xbox. I remember really wanting to play it though.

I played a little bit of Morrowind and didn't get into it but I loved Oblivion despite it's problems.
(in b4 hipsters whining about how the series was better before it was cool)
Morrowind was a very popular game, it's not like the series only became popular with Oblivion.
However, Oblivion did make a lot of changes to the core gameplay that ruined the sense of progression and adventure. It's the prime example of a series being dumbed down for the masses, even more so than Deus Ex 2. Hopefully Skyrim goes back to allowing a little more freedom, experimentation and doesn't feel the need to hold the players hand for the entire game.
