Rockstar working on "GTA4 Liberty City Stories" for Vita?

According to a tipster that has close ties some of the people over at Rockstar Games, (the folks behind the popular Grand Theft Auto series) have been working very hard at creating a Grand Theft Auto IV: Stories based game for the PlayStation Vita.

According to our tipster, the game will be based on the same map that we all know as Liberty City, but with a whole new story and character and possible downloadable content. Our tipster went as far as to even mention that the game has been in development for quite some time now. This does make sense being that if you look at the records, Rockstar released a Liberty City Stories game on the PSP only a few months after the handheld’s release here in North America.

Wow, to have a GTA4 spin off, with the full map in the palm of my hands? That's sick. That's a console seller that would almost rank up there with the COD game coming this fall.

Would it be a console seller? I mean I really see no big reason to have GTA or COD on the go. Those games aren't really built for on the go play imo.

Not sure how this is supposed to entice someone to get a Vita.

It would entice me to get a Vita. Uncharted was outstanding and works well on the go. It's why there is a sleep button. Press it, put the thing away and pick it up later.

Hopefully it will come out on the PS3 or the 360. As much as I would want to play this I am not going to run out and get a Vita.

None of these past spinoffs ever made it to non-sony devices as far as I know. Chinatown Wars was on the DS too but that was a completely original game, independent of any other series game... It also wasn't nearly as good as the "stories" GTA spin-offs. So you won't see this spinoff on the 360 and I doubt it makes it to PS3 as they're going to support their new handheld. If anything you might be able to play GTA5 remotely from your Vita if you have a PS3.

SMH. There weren't any comparable mobile devices to put them on that's why they never came too any other system. Also the 360 got the GTAIV spin-offs first so that doesn't really prove anything.

And it being ported to another system isn't dependent on sony. Take-two could easier throw the game on ios also. Not only that but I can't see microsoft letting sony out moneyhat them.

If it does come to those other systems it would be XBLA/PSN.

Did you play GTA on ios? It sucks.
