Crap looks like I might have to look into getting a PSP.

Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection is well worth getting a PSP for. I think the original FF IV remake (based on FF IV for GBA, with the extra dungeons) is worth the price alone. But, on top of that, you also get FF IV: The After Years and the new FF IV: Interlude (set a year after FF IV, the setting a celebration of Damcyan castle's finished rebuilding)!

Not sure when I'll get to those, because I'm thoroughly enjoying the remake of the original. Beautifully redrawn graphics, animations and cutscenes; but retains the feel of the SNES original (helped by the option to use the original music score). And the addition of auto battle takes some pain out of exp. grinding. Battles take place in seconds and, as the name implies, you don't have to push a button. When I get that far, it'll help with those agonizing quests for rare items (Pink Tail, Artemis Bow, Rune Axe, Dragon Whip, etc.). Now, getting a Pink Tail may only take me a month instead of years (NEVER have gotten one in 18 years of owning SNES version).

And I think I like the new character portraits (though I'm not sure Rosa's does her beauty shown in the intro movies justice). Seeing Rydia's adult portrait made me swoon, heart race a little (blush). So lovely. Guess I have a thing for women with green hair (ADULT Rydia, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers) LOL.

Anyway, BY FAR favorite Final Fantasy IV remake yet (though I'll always go back to my old FF II SNES cart ever so often, as long as the battery tries to hold up, which it's had trouble doing lately).

Anyone who also has FF IV Complete Collection: Is it just me, or are the steal and drop rates absolutely horrendous, even compared to the terrible rates for past versions? I used to be able to get Edge to steal easily. Now, he rarely succeeds, always getting caught! And it's rare for me to get any drop. Much less the rarest drops with the highest odds! Wonder if they lowered steal/drop rates since auto battle was added to make battles quicker/easier?

Just got a new PSP (I say it's new but it's really just an incredibly cheap PSP 1000 in fairly good condition I found on Ebay for 30 quid) to replace the one which broke over a year ago.

I've got some games to catch up on. Recommendations?

I've been playing a few demos that I luckily downloaded before PSN disappeared.

Wipeout Pulse - If I ever feel the need to get a PSP racing game, I'll probably go with this.
Secret Agent Clank - Really fun! I'll get this in the future, when I've actually played Size Matters.
LittleBigPlanet - In love! It was just delightful, and I'll definitely buy it.
Patapon - Interesting concept. Might get it.

I should actually play the PSP some more, though. I think the system is pretty darn good, but I'm distracted by other games at the moment. :3

I love all the Demoes on PSN before Naruto came out. Seriously, I found a definite purchase with every one of them. Too bad I ain't gots the money for all of them.

I tend to all but ignore Edge's stealing except for a few choice parts....and sadly I've been too busy to get to these parts yet. I don't think pink tails or rare summons need magnified drop rate...

Game is friggin' GOOOOORGEOUS though....liek 60 hours of content for 30 bucks. So insanely pleased....if only it had an optional hard/nasty difficulty setting that made it a bit closer to the DS remake!

Seems to depend on what enemy you're stealing from (and, I guess, how your chosen armor affects your speed stat). I have a terribly low success rate stealing Artemis Arrows from Moonmaidens, yet was able to get hundreds of sirens (for Flan Princess fighting) effortlessly from Searchers setting the game to auto battle.

Rare item hunting while level grinding has had odd mixed results so far. No Artemis Bow from killing hundreds of aforementioned Moonmaidens, but got a Wyvern Lance from Blue Dragons. Unintentionally. I was trying to get a Dragon Whisker for Rydia, and I got the Wyvern Lance first. Even though it's the rarest drop from Blue Dragons and much easier to get from a Red Dragon, LOL! All this fun and I haven't even gotten to Pink Tail hunting or bonus dungeons (much less Interlude or The After Years) yet!

Did run into one problem last night, though. Finished FF IV and during the credits, the PSP just shut down. And my battery wasn't even low! I should be having problems like this with my 18 year old SNES cart. Not this! Hope it was just a random hiccup.

OH, unrelated, added your friend code on my 3DS if you wanna do the same.

imo, the 1000 was the best model, haha. I liked how it felt heavy.

Anyway, some good games would be the Patapon series, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Megeman Powered Up, and Megaman Maverik Hunter X.

Some others to mention. If you're an RPG fan: Final Fantasy & Final Fantasy II 20th Anniversary editions, Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection (that I've been going on and on about lately). Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Duodecim Dissidia FF if you like your FF in fighting game form. Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX for the street fighter in you. And Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles is a damn good collection featuring a remake of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, the original TG-16 version of Rondo, and the classic Castlevania: Symphony of the Night! One more, if you're a shoot-em-up fan, is Gradius Collection, which has Gradius I through IV (arcade versions) AND Gradius Gaiden!

I hate to barge in, but I'm thinking about getting a PSP 3000 soon. I was wondering how the Comic Reader was, if anyone in here uses it. How much do the comics cost.

y2josh

Xkhaoz

@y2 It's worked alright for me. There's a variety of free comics every once in awhile. Comics usually cost a buck or two, so, prices rivals those of comic book shops.

Popyman

I LOVE reading comics on the PSP. I buy smaller series (like the inFAMOUS comics, Ratchet and Clank, and Kick-Ass) and have enjoyed it a lot, probably one of the PSP's best features, IMO.

So, what free games are you all getting? I'm mainly looking mulitplayer wise, as having a bunch of people playing would be cool.

I'm getting Modnation and...I haven't decided on the other one (I already have Little Big Planet PSP).
