I can't wait for PSN to come back up. I've got a crapload of upcoming games I am so looking forward to.
AMY, for instance. Loving me the look of AMY.
Granted--Anonymous pretends to have some BS righteous for-the-people agenda, but it's thinly-veiled cover of sophomoric antics
I really don't think this was Anonymous. Anonymous is annoying, not destructive. What Annonymous does is for giggles - they do not really want to take down an entire corporation.
I'm certainly frustrated with this PSN outage, but at the same time, they gotta do what they gotta do to keep away the hackers. Although getting an email from Sony today with a beta code I can't redeem for inFamous 2 really sucks :/

Wow glad I own an Xbox and not a PS3. I hope Sony gives something to its players for this inconvenience like a free month of PSN or something along those lines.
psn is free buddy
Thats why I said or something along those lines I wasnt sure if you had to pay a monthly fee like XBL.
its all good we have a subscription thing as well but not how they do it for xbox, more of a you get discounts and free stuff that the amount you get that is free etc amounts up to or more then u paid for a year or 3 month sub that kind of thing didnt interest me much either but they do get some rather good deals though
Ah that cool. I never messed around with the PS3 much due the the price tag. I went with the Xbox 360 instead cause most of the game that came out on PS3 also came out on the Xbox and at the time it was cheaper than the PS3.
Still I hope you guys get something out of this inconvenience besids a we are sorry for the inconvenience letter.
yeah its all good i paid 550 something for the ps3 fat model when it was still out for a somewhat compatible ps2 model it was alot but that how it was in 2007 or 8 i think with the games coming out and came out before i couldnt resist waiting not like anyone could predict the price drops i realise most of what i have on ps3 is multiplat lol but it functioning as a blu-ray player is a bonus apart from the exclusives
i jioned in on the 360 few years ago when the red ring died out, got the 60 gb one for 200 dollars lol thats almost bassically everything system i got costed except for the wii, 3DS and ps3
on the psn news i hope i gets working again since im ready to fatality someone online in mortal kombat
Wow. That is awful reporting. Sony did not admit that all the PSN info was stolen. At all. They said some of it might be stolen, and people should be careful.
There is also speculation that Sony started this in order to prevent people from getting free games off PSN since there is some exploit apparently. It doesn't make sense to me, but I expect a few changes while the servers are offline. Why are there no back-up servers?
Sean Aaron ~ "The secret is out: I'm really an American cat-girl." Q: How many physicists does it take to change a light bulb? A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.

What I read is that some people got access to developer information, which Sony allows them to download their games for free (cause they hardly thought they would be stolen.)
EDIT: I also thought it was a bit strange how they kept your credit card info on the system, so deleted that after I bought some money for the PSN store.
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

There would be back up servers. But restoring a global (and I do mean global) data network takes quite a long time, especially if you're patching it as you go.
This isn't just a matter of click and drag icons
It's also worth noting that the chances that a hacker (or even group of hackers) was able to access, download and store 75 million accounts worth of customer data in such a short time is miniscule to none, and if they were able to do that, tracking them down should be pretty freaking easy.

I gotta stop wishing bad luck on people when I lose.
It was 100% Anonymous who did this, I saw a 4chan thread about this like in March.
They would deny it to keep it off them. They are essentially criminals and we all know criminals lie. I'm partially worried for my account but whatevs. I do have trust in Sony. Because with THEIR consumers, "They don't play."

But in Anonymous' defense, They do this kind of stuff just for the hell of it. They helped Wikileaks then helped fight them... But in all, They are still damn dirty criminals.
