I watching the Playstation conference and saw there subscription model on top of the free access you pay for content on a 3 monthly basis or yearly and get lots of cool stuff and heres the catch content you can keep as long as you subscribe so its basicly a rental service for content you cant keep.
Its only $50 a Year, and your going to get hundreds of dollars of content. ITs worth it for me as well as automatic updates, Add-On DLC and Minis and PSN Games. Most of wich once you beat you really dont play much more

@danger.... Its less than ten bucks a month. A PSone game everymonth, a PSN game every month (9-15 USD per game) exclusive demos/betas, faster downloads and bandwith, Qore Access (25 USD yr), PSP Minis monthly, etc.... I dont care if I cant keep it, its a rental service then if that is what you want to call it. It sounds very worth the money.... Anyways your getting 3 months FREE to see how you like it. Ive paid I think it was $50yr for Playstation Underground for years and that was a 2 Disc Demo/Vid package you got once a month for PSone back in the day, this is giving Way more. I think its worth it, and you dont have to have it, EVERTYHING you have now on PSN is still there, the service is completely optional and not forced.

I know you dont have to get it wasnt my point if i was paying for something i personally like to have something at the end of it is all and as far as i can tell from the press conference you only get to keep the stuff your paying for as long as you keep paying for it.
@danger.... yeah that is what he said. Doesnt hurt my feelings, heck to be honest Ive got PSN games Ive played to death now that ive moved to my second PS3 because I paid for them and dont want to just erase and forget about, but with this system I can. Works for me, but maybe not for everyone.

It all seemed pretty groovy except for the "you-get-to-keep-it-until-you-stop-paying-us" thing, as has already been mentioned. I guess the biggest reason I like this is because it may force Microsoft to do something even better with its already awesome Xbox Live service for the sake of competition.
Paying for online services is reasonable, and the $50 annual fee isn't bad. But none of the generic incentives for Sony's subscription service have really convinced me it's a clear improvement over what you get for free, and I really dislike the vision that Sony has shown for digital-only future where gamers don't actually own content.
The way sony said was any of the content like free games you get with plus is only yours till your plus subscription ends which forces you to keep paying.

Hey check out my awesome new youtube channel shingi70 where I update weekly on the latest gaming and comic news form a level headed perspective.
Does anyone know when this thing begins? Or has it already. I'll be playing many more psn games once this happens, even if I don't get to keep them if I cancel, I'll just make sure I don't wanna play them no more.
I hate paying for my online so i'm glad it is also free. What is the point of the subscription? Would do you get?
I'm 3 weeks onto my 15 month subscription and already have gotten over $55 in content. All the discounted add on dlc is really great as it makes it way more reasonable to buy.
Oddly enough, if they did charge for online, I'd actually pay for the subscription, because then I'd know I was getting something I would use.

There are still sales for non-PSN users, which are far cheaper than the measly "discounts" they give to PSN+ users, so I can't honestly say that's a major plus, IMO. We'll have to see about the "Free" games as things go along. I suppose if you're the kind of person who buys a lot of miscillaneous (Oh G-d how do you spell that? I can't even find it in the dictionary ) PSN stuff, it would appeal to you. But for the average PSN user, it simply doesn't offer enough to be of any real use.
