Sooo...wait, tomorrow? If I get a physical copy fpr the PC, will it still show up on Steam? I'm not really wanting to deal with Steam is why, but if both require it, I'll just go with the download.

Steam isn't that bad once you learn how to use it. I like it much more than something like Games for Windows Live.
I use it every now and then because of the OB, it is sometimes a pain to use. Especially back then when our family has had connection issues and I couldn't even get online, yet Steam says internet is required to play a game....seriously, internet to play Half-Life 2...WTF?! xD

You can set Steam to go into an offline mode in case of internet loss. I haven't tried it yet myself though.
I know, I've used it before, but it sometimes states that it requires online mode to be activated to play a game. And this is when I'm wanting to play one of the Half-Life games...

Steam is a great, stable, value-priced platform that requires an internet connection to play all games. Windows Live is a horrid, buggy, difficult-to-install, OS-crashing piece of waste that adds absolutely nothing whatsoever to the gaming experience except an extra login, password, and a time-consuming work-around due to the automatically-crashing pack-in version with Windows Live-requisite games.
On-topic--Portal 2 arrives in 5 days (arrives to me in 7) and I plan on making extensive use of cros-plat!

...I have less problems with Live than I do with Steam...so, no clue what you're talking about.

For those who pre-loaded Portal 2, there's an update for it. What is this madness EDIT: Seems to just be a standard last-minute update. No big deal I suppose.
