From the look of it this week sucks too, Nintendo and Sony are lacking this week....I shouldn't complain though because i just got DeathSpank . If Earthworm Jim HD would release tomorrow i think i would faint from awesomeness exhaustion . I doubt we will get more than 2 psone classics.

I know Europe already has at least one of those Disney PS1 Classics...why the sudden rumor that so many might be coming over here?

Also, a suggestion: You should just make a thread to encompass EVERY week if you're going to keep doing this. Makes it easier to find for the thread subscribers among us.

Hang on.
America is getting 6 PS One games in one week?

Anyone confirm this?
So does Europe get any of the American PS ones?

@Sean: No, those are all under the "rumored" section. I'll be surprised if we get more than one, seeing as the support dropped pretty quickly after the PSP Go launch.

How is it that Sony is able to work something out with Disney to get licensed games on their PS1 Classics service, but Nintendo can't get licensed games on VC?

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

There's a Ninja Turtles game on VC.

Nintendo doesn't make licensed games, so it's not up to them. You have to consider also that N64 is Nintendo's most modern virtual console, and they don't seem to allow much third party freedom on that console. Publishers making licensed games in the SNES days and earlier may not exist anymore, may not care about Virtual Console, may be tied up in other deals, and mostly may not have the license anymore.

I don't see Capcom and Disney going out of their way to renegotiate a deal for Duck Tales on NES, whereas Toy Story Racer is more recent and ties in with a recent movie, adding extra incentive (though I know there are other examples on PSN that this doesn't apply to). I don't know if Activision still makes games for Disney Interactive anymore. If so, that would obviously explain it. If not, maybe they just see PSOne era games as more profitable than NES / SNES era games.

Perhaps it is cheaper to release on PSOne than on VC. Or maybe Sony enticed Disney into doing this as part of a greater deal spanning beyond video games since gaming is not the extent of their relations, I'd think.

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

The Disney games listed weren't partnership deals like all the Capcom/Disney stuff we want but will never get. They were published by Disney to begin with, making them just as easy to release as all those LucasArts games were.
