So I'm not the only one who thought it looked boring? Pheooph, I thought I was going nuts or somethin', you know?

@y2josh.... dont feel bad my man. I have left the house at 3:30am every morning this week and havent made it home unitl after 7pm. Making money can be really rough sometimes, but the $28 an hour for overtime makes it very worth it I guess lol.

@Stuffy.... Vagrant Story was expensive and very hard to find when it released. I was a Senior in High School and saving up for College at the time it released (if I remember correctly, as that was 10 yrs ago lol) and couldnt afford it, and have wanted to play it for years and years. Its the most wanted PSone game that I want and missed out on.

........ Seriously AWESOME update. Battlefield 2 just finished downloading and after this episode of Weeds is done im goin to try it out. I might have to end up buying another game if its good, as my wife is interested in it. lol.

@SilentJ: Assuming online shopping is okay, it's not too hard.

@AlexSays: I'd say it depends on what you want out of the game. If you want an enjoyable single-player campaign mode, the game SUCKS. Co-op is about a zillion times better, but it's local-only (booooo, GameLoft!). Multiplayer VS. seems pretty good, and does have an online mode. It's my understanding that this is meant to be the main "draw" of the title, so...it's probably worth full price. That said, I'm personally glad I got it on sale.

What happened to the time when White Knight Chronicles was supposed to be a killer app for the PS3? All the negative talk about it lately seems to be in stark contrast to the last 4 years.

Does anyone know if there's a website similar to the old vc-reviews, and wii-ware world that discusses the downloadable content for Playstation Network with reviews and news updates?

@Firkraag: Not that I can find searching the web, sadly. Point of fact, there really doesn't seem to be anything of the sort for XBLA either. NLife is an EXTREME oddity in its dedication to reviewing downloadable games (to the point where more retail games get skipped than with most sites; a trade-off I feel is COMPLETELY worthwhile).

@Stuffy..... Gamesradar.com did a survery recently and the main thing I added to the survey was that there site would become invaluable if they started reviewing XBLA/PSN/WiiWare/DSiWare, etc. Its so hard to find a honest review of any of the games released anymore.

After I downloaded and watched the videos on PSN of White Knight Chronicles I honestly became very leery of it. I wasnt impressed with what I saw. My $20 dollar copy of Chrono Trigger has been suiting me just fine lately for my RPG fix lol.

Well after playing about 4 hours of white knight chronicles i can say I am thoroughly enjoying it. The graphics feel like PS2.5 at times, but that's no problem for me. I'm glad to finally have a JRPG I can enjoy. Then next month another JRPG to enjoy. WEEE

Anyone played Valkyria Chronicles? I tried the demo that's on PSN, i liked what I saw, i'm both a strategy and RPG fan. But does that quality I saw in the demo persist throughout the entire game? If so it's a given buy, considering the low price I can get it for.

Valkyria Chronicles is amazing. One of my favorite games this gen. I think it gets much better than the demo even.

And you're right Stuff, Tanks seems horrible for single player and that's what I would play the most. So I'm definitely glad I downloaded the demo.

On a final note, I really wish Sony didn't go wrong with White Knight. It was one of the few games I was looking forward to this year.

You have to complete the Four Days experience and answer the question correctly and you get a voucher to the demo. I think you have to have a European account, not sure on that yet. A guy on my friends list has been playing it and its over 2gb in size. If I get it all worked out Ill let you guys know how I did it.

These answers will net you the download code, I regestered and apparently a email will shoot back at some point, you do get a free Home Tshirt just for regestering. It wont just let you input the answers. You can play the whole Four Days challenge and Im thinking I will after I get it.

You don't have to play the challenge--you just choose the four correct pieces of evidence. You will need an EU account though--I think Sony fixed the codes or accessibility to said codes--I couldn't redeem until I used my EU dummy account. Kinda like trying to install the FF13 demo on my regular account...had to use the Japanese dummy.

And for those curious--the demo is positively stunning. I feel I'm within my rights to say it could quite possibly be the most impressive game I've ever played. It's like they invented a videogame completely from scratch...in an unbelievably good way. It's fundamentally perfect--10/10 from me at the moment given what I've seen.

The fight scene is GLORIOUS. You'll see what I mean...it's just perfect.

Yeah...you know, the same thing happened to Haze. And Too Human. And Crystal Bearers. And like all of those other ones, I'll never quite understand where all the hype came from. It seemed more like it was all born purely out of wishful thinking rather than any sort of logical basis. I mean, you could see from all the trailers and gameplay videos what it was going to be. They didn't show one game in those videos then suddenly pull out a completely different one that turned out to be...shall we say "less than stellar". I suppose if you just listened to all the PR talk and descriptions of what the developers hoped to eventually achieve, and I don't know about anyone else, but I can't honestly think of any time when that actually worked out for me(it's more or less the equivalent of going off of the description on the back of the box - of course they're gonna try to make it sound good). The videos at least show you the actual game.

Although I guess in this case much of it stems from the developer, whom I'll admit has a pretty damn good track record. Hell, even I had high hopes for WKC at one point because it was developed by Level-5. Still, I find it hard to believe, and honestly quite sad that so much hype can be brought up simply because it has a certain developer's name on the box.

Well, my brother started playing White Knight Chronicles today, and he's enjoying it thus far. A coworker at GameStop said it was too Japanese for her tastes, or something along those lines, so fans of Mass Effect/Oblivion/Fallout/whatever are certainly NOT guaranteed to like this. You'd think that would be obvious, but...maybe not.

From what I know about it (which isn't much, as I've ignored the hype machine quite successfully all these years...a good habit to avoid disappointment), it sounds pretty good. I'ma have to give it a try sometime. But I'm busy getting sucked back into Pokémon right now, having poured about ten hours into Collesseum today (not a lot to do with the blizzard going on right now...but at least the power's still on! Also, the game's CRAZY addictive for no apparent reason.).

kotaku's method works perfectly--no waiting for an email, as the signup for account (and resulting code after submitting answers) are all immediate.

Heavy Rain is absolutely increcible. If you are playing it expecting Alone in the Dark, Silent Hill, Uncharted type controls etc, well its a interactive point and click game. Game come from the likes of Dreamfall, Syberia, Myst, Indigo Prophecy, etc. Its not a 3rd person action game. The graphics are better than Uncharted and the mood of the game is incredibly dark and unsettling. The way the characters move is so incredibly life like and no you dont run around and its slow paced to feel very lifelike, and it does. If everything holds together through the whole game..... well, Im sure we are looking at a serious contender for another system selling game.

Heavy Rain won't sell systems

It's one of those games that people with the system might pay serious attention to but it doesn't have the mainstream appeal to make people suddenly go 'hey I think I'll go buy a PS3 now!'

I can even see Sony being disappointed with the sales of this one.

I just borrowed Demon's Souls from my cousin. I didn't know this game had a filter! Sweet! Anyway, I'm lovin' it. It's a pretty awesome game, and while frustrating, gives a vast sense of accomplishment for defeating a boss or discovering something on your own. I just wish I had someone to play it with. =( Ah, well. I guess I'll get the game whenever I can and play it with my cousin. =D

I'm in New Game + and I've figured out how to net around 800,000 souls in about 1 hour and 6 min. It's the fastest way I've seen for levelin' up unless you just save all the archdemons for one massive slaughtering.
