@fuzzy: I haven't played borderlands since i lost my save data with the YLOD. Me and odd69 played a few times online and I enjoyed it a lot. I played one play through on 360 when it first came out with other friends and had plenty of hours put in online. RDR is one of my all time favorite games, awesome game.

@JayArr.... dude, you got a PS3? For those in this thread that don't know, JayArr is a flippin beast in Monster Hunter Tri!

@Fuzzy... as soon as I wrap up Mass Effect 2, and knock out the SOCOM 4/Dungeon Hunter Alliance reviews, I plan to finish up the Borderlands DLC. Might get some online time with you.

@Waltz... I have a completely different opinion of Dungeon Hunter Alliance. Very few PSN games have as much depth that this game does. The skill trees are enormous, and unlocking a higher difficulty when beating the game, per character, allows the ability to double the strength of the skills in the skill tree. Multiple classes that play completely different, online co-op/local combined, etc. This is also the first real dungeon crawler on PSN, and it's up there with Untold Legends as well. I'm about to start it back up, and will devote my entire weekend to beating the game and playing the second play-through to give a viable review of the game. This is my type of niche genre that I love so much, grinding levels and getting the good loot!

Slappy - no denying Dungeon Hunter is enormous, but it's also generic to the point where its just boring. I really recomment you Buy Sacred 2... For just a few more $s you get an even bigger, and far less bland game.

I like dungeon hacks and grinding as much as the next guy, but not when they're inferior, complete, copies of other games. I felt the exact same way about Modern Combat. Still play it as a bit of a guilty pleasure, but it's a bad game.

@Waltz.... Just curious, how much time you've gotten with DHA?

I've now gotten around 7 hours, and I can tell you this, it's not a generic, bland game at all. The amount of strategy that it takes to work your way through the stages I'm at is quite impressive. I'm highly impressed and having a blast with this one. I'm really looking forward to writing this review, I'm enjoying this game immensely.

The way I've leveled my Rogue, I'm using arrows for distance on enemies that can inflict stun on me, I only cast my spells when I'm surrounded, and I'm dual-wielding two dagger, both gold level with awesome stat bonuses. I flame enemies quite frequently, and stun with my specials quite a bit. There is just loads of strategy here, and it's more than I've seen in this genre in awhile.

I've wanted to get Sacred for a longtime, but time has been a factor. I just don't have much time for games other than reviews anymore. Portal 2, Uncharted 3, Skyrim and OOT 3DS are my next purchases.

Sloppy - about the same as you - 7-10 hours.

When I say generic, I don't mean 'easy' or 'basic', I mean derivative. There isn't a single idea in that game that isn't done better by other games.

I really do not appreciate derivative games. By main issue with Gameloft is not it's technical abilities - its fine there. It's its inability to do anything that isn't a pale shadow of something else.

That said, no doubt I'll see you online at some point. I'll keep playing this, like other GL games it's a guilty pleasure, just not something I can exactly recommend.

Nope, I simply don't have the time to get to it. I wish I did though.

Yeah, if you like the gameplay of Dungeon Hunter, you absolutely have to get that game. It'll keep you going for literally months. It's possibly the biggest game on the PS3, in terms of raw content.

Quite a classy game in terms of gameplay, too.

Aviator

Well folks, got a 160GB PS3 today and I got Final Fantasy 13 and Crysis 2 real cheap.

Also, add me folks: naviator_9

@Waltz... will do at some point, but Skyrim will be my next massive game, followed by Mass Effect 3.

@Aviator... congrats, and great choices on the games. Crysis 2 is amazing, and jaw dropping in the graphics department. Prepare to get hooked on the creative online multiplayer.

I've put loads of time into Dungeon Hunter Alliance now, and still going to put another all-day marathon on it tomorrow as well. Once the character is leveled to around 20+ the amount of strategy that is available - per class - is outright amazing for a PSN title, and the 4 player online is on par with Borderlands in fun-factor. I'm waiting on a reply from Gameloft about a bad bug I've found, and will probably not have the review up before the Tuesday launch, as I want to get the reply, and I want to try out New Game+ as well, and that is looking to take me anther 10+ hours at least.

The bug is a multiplayer issue when trying to invite a friend, it mostly doesn't work. You can join a public match just fine, but inviting a friend is hard to do. Other than this issue, which will obviously be fixed via a patch, for anyone that is interested in buying come Tuesdays launch, I say go for it. I've absolutely enjoyed the heck out of myself with the game! The more time I play it the better it gets, and this game becomes a stat fan-boys heaven at about the 15 hour mark as well. That is my little mini-review for you guys prior to the Tuesday release, and I will of course go all out for this review at Movemodo as well!

@slapshot what is this dungeon hunter game?!?! sounds really really cool ill check it out

It's a port of Gameloft's iOS Dungeon Hunter franchise. Diablo clone, basically.

I've got two characters up to level 15 each now, and my opinion of the game hasn't changed. There's nothing wrong with it outright... It's just that I've played too many better games in this genre. My recommendation that people go out and buy Sacred 2 instead stands.

It's good that there arer two very different opinions of this game before it's even released in the US... Just read both reviews, and then decide which side of the fence is more in line with your taste in games

Also, remember that you need to have money left over for Might and Magic when it's released. So far that's my PSN game of the last two years. Its that good.

Fuzzy

@turtlelink - I tried it. Wasn't too bad. I don't think the single player would be that great, but I think the multiplayer would be pretty fun.

Fuzzy, Backloggery.

odd69

sacred 2 was indeed great waltz elf speaks the truth, but regardless, if dungeon hunter scores a 1, ill still buy it day one, and will see you guys online

I haven't played Sacred 2 myself, but one thing that this game does do that no other game in this genre has ever done on the PS3, is allow for local and online multiplayer drop-in/drop-out. So if you've got a friend or two over and need those extra players, the spots will be filled by online players, and spots can be reserved for locals. It's a really brilliant addition to the genre, and I know we have several here that play local multiplayer.

Its really not in line with Diablo as much as it is with Champions of Norrath/Baldurs Gate. It plays a good deal different than Diablo does. I've yet to play a dungeon crawler with this much focus on weapon/armour stats (magical).
