Who's a fan of the series here? It apparently is huge in Japan, but not so much everywhere else. I'm getting Freedom Unite, so I want to know what others think of the series.

I'm a big Monster Hunter fan - this Saturday at my work we're inviting people to come down and try Freedom Unite, as I think it should be huge over here in the UK. PSP might not be massive, but games like this are far bigger than anything on DS, and I think it should be a real system-shifter.

Have you tried the demo on the PlayStation store yet?

I tried the demo, yeah. It seemed really hard......

It is, very hard. And the demo starts you off with some good equipment too, although it also pitches you against some of the bigger beasties. If you have a friend or two with a PSP, get them to grab the demo and your life will be much easier, trust me.

I made a small guidebook last night to give away at work. It started off as a short four-page booklet and soon became 1,500 words and ten pages long. I'm such a knobhead sometimes.

It's the kind of game where you'll put in a good five or ten hours just to defeat some of the starter monsters such as Velociprey and carve something useful off them, but personally I love it. Of course, MH3 will be unbelievable and with the online play I don't think I'll ever see the outside world again...

I don't know why, but I just can't get into this series. I can't even put a finger on what it is I don't really like.

I'm looking forward to the Wii version. It'll be my first brush with the franchise, and it might be the first game I'd pay a monthly fee for.

@Prosody: Any chance you'll post your guide on GameFAQs for us?

It's only a very short guide, so I'll try to post it here. It's nowhere near GameFAQs length or standard, just a little something I knocked up to give me something to do. I'll post it tomorrow if I get chance (and if I remember...)

Here's a link to my very short guide - it's hosted on my own space, so please right-click to save the document and don't pass this link on. I'll post some photos of the finished version later (as It looks ace!)

Alright, thanks. Word won't let me save it, but it's always here if I need it.

I've got Unite, and I'm kinda dissapointed by it. I loved MHF2 but they didn't make any changes with Unite. Theres the same music, same village, and same quests. Its like an expansion, which should not have been charged at full price. Its was like Animal Crossing City Folk all over again. But I'll still play it for the new missions.

I promised photos, so here they are. I also got a rather cool t-shirt. I'm a lucky boy.

Thanks, Corbie. There's also some posters and demo packs around but I haven't got them with me here. Still good stuff here though
