Possibly, yes. But honestly, if people want Mega Man to continue on, then they're really going to need to buy the games, new. Otherwise it's just not worth Capcom's time.
I don't think buying re-releases of remakes sends any message to Capcom other than the message that we enable them to re-release remakes of games. That it's okay to not try, to not put any effort into anything. That they can dangle a beloved franchise in front of us at their leisure and then take it away like d*cks, and then expect us to just buy s*** we already bought before in the false hope that anything we do can possibly change their minds about this.
Not worth Capcom's time my taut, spankable tush. Is anything "worth their time" other than adding a bit of extra content to pre-existing games and then trotting them out as brand-new experiences?

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
because that's only been true in the first game of the many Megaman series and Legends 2 and maybe 8 and ZX Advent and I can't even confirm the last one.

I'm no fan of Capcom myself (frankly I'm really apathetic), but it does seem like they've been half-*ssing a lot of their franchises lately, usually with ports and remakes, and heaven forbid they come up with a good idea, get the fans excited, and cancel it in the process. If anyone calls this a good business practice, I call him or her a fool.
I'm just waiting for that inevitable(....I'll probably by eating my words) Mega Man 11 suprise announcement. Inafune or not, I've got a mad craving for the next Nes installment!
I wouldn't hold my breath

Capcom seems more interested in developing new franchises right now. Whether it'll work or not is another matter, but the company is clearing investing the bulk of its resources on games like Dragon's Dogma.
Companies don't have unlimited resources to spread the love across all it's franchises, and then also find new IP. Especially a company with the history and franchise base of Capcom.
Don't forget, Capcom has suffered some horrific financial results over the last few years. The resources it has are going to be relatively limited.
Personally I prefer it with they take risks and release a wholly new game like Dragon's Dogma, than keep churning out more "new" Mega Man stuff.
Well, I already have Maverick Hunter, but I really want it for Powered Up. Please bring this to the states so my PSP can have some time to play with me
Well right now they're basically raping the heck out of Street Fighter IV. I'd rather 'see' more Mega Man stuff. The last MM title we got was MM10 and that came out during the beginning of last year.
I LOVED Mega Man 10. Games like that are what Capcom should be doing with the Mega Man franchise. They need to renew interest in their old titles by making a "new" game, sort of like a rebirth. Selling it digitally is a safer route, since that eliminates manufacturing costs for discs, boxes, manuals, etc.
Mega Man 11 would be nice, but I doubt they are considering it, even though both Mega Man 9 and 10 were very popular (MM9 practically started this whole retro revival movement).
I'd love to play Powered Up again (and I never played Maverick Hunter X), but why UMD? Why won't they just release it on the PSN Store so Vita owners can play it too? The Vita is only backwards compatible with digital PSP games, so re-issuing the games on UMD defeats the purpose.

And you are surprised??? When it comes to Street Fighter as far as Capcom thinks too many reversions of SF is never a bad thing. So far the only have had 2 they still need a few more to catch up to SF2.

More than 2.

Milking Street Fighter is something Capcom does best. They've been doing it since Street Fighter 2. Mega Man is another franchise they keep churning out, with all the spin-offs that have little to do with the main games (ZX, StarForce, Battle Network, Zero, etc.). I don't want to hear about the "timeline" or continuity of each spin-off, that's not my point.
