You make a good point, Ristar. But there are so many fantastic games. I'm not saying 3D gams suck. I'm just saying that it's sad that 2D is being abandoned by most developers.
Yep - I think you're right there. What annoys me is when I go looking for a 2D game on Wii I really want play, say King of Fighters or Klonoa, and no shops stock them!
King of Fighters is impossible to find in the UK even though it was 'out' in March. Its no wonder these games dont sell if they are not even available to people who really want to buy them... I think I do see a bit of a new popularity in 2D emerging though, with services such as VC making games much more accessible for oldies and a new generation of gamers. While we still have the d-pad, we should still have 2D!
People need to realize that opinions are opinions and you can't change them.
I was thinking.... isnt complaining about fanboys going against this? I mean, it their opinion that their games are better, yes they cant accept that others think otherwise, but isnt complaining about them kinda the same thing?

Lol. No skill...sigh. Isn't there also debates going on about how games are easier now? And yet, 2D takes no skill. I still haven't beat the NES Mario Bros. (I've gotta work on that).
Reading the same old, same old can get rather tedious. I mean, nobody likes to see a console that they enjoy get bashed unfairly, but after seeing so much of it, one can get tired of it.
I really don't see what all the hate is about. There are games that I like on all three systems. (If I had the extra money, I'd get a 360 just to get the Banjo game). It's great to pop in MGS4 and play that, but it's also fun to pop in Mario Galaxy or numerous other Nintendo titles and play them, too. There's a strong division on the internet about what games people like and don't like, and it's really hard for me to see why they don't like a particular game or not. I play games for enjoyment.
I think that in my entire time of playing video games, there was only one game that I couldn't finish because I couldn't stand playing it anymore (and that wasn't a Nintendo title either).

I am not a big fan a first person shooters, I just don't know what people see in them. I would probably consider myself a "hardcore-casual" gamer as I don't really care about hardcore games. PS: I'm 13 but I still love playing games from NES, etc.
