Finally, another Final Fantasy along the lines of the classics, for us retro gamers who grew up on the original 6 (or the 3 that made it outside Japan anyway )! It's for iOS/Android (wish it were for 3DS, but oh well). Look at the gorgeous screen shots...

Not really.
To me it just looks alike a game made in RPG maker.

Yea!!!! XD. So glad that its coming out for Android since my carrier wont carry Iphones. I will pick this one up for sure since its done old school FF style like FFIV: The After Years was. Has a price been revealed, and if not does anyone know how much a game like this runs?

Just saw this. The UI is really ugly, but I'm keeping my eye on it. :3

Should have been on eShop. The casual demographic on iOS won't care about this. It would get the attention it deserves, if it were on a portable core gamers gravitate towards.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

I agree. Breaks my heart to see an old-school Final Fantasy on iOS & Android only, where a great deal of buyers are casuals, who want something for .99 that they can burn 5 minutes of their lunch break on, and could never appreciate something like Final Fantasy. It would've meant a great deal to Final Fantasy fans like me, who presently only have Theaterrhythm FF to look forward to on 3DS, or even Vita, which only has FF X HD in the works (last I heard). I'm not sure if I'll get this right off the bat, or give it time and hope it reaches 3DS. I generally detest iOS gaming.

Another reason to mourn for the Final Fantasy of the past, that such a game would be put on iOS/Android before a Nintendo or Sony system.

Also, a reason I hope for it on 3DS some day is that I understand it's supposed to be a remake of Final Fantasy Legends. If this came out on 3DS, Squeenix would certainly release the Game Boy original on VC at the same time! Final Fantasy IV: The After Years started out on cell phones, so maybe this will eventually make it to other systems too.

Yep. Because the top 5 downloads on the eShop, being Nintendo Video, Netflix, Pokedex 3D, Zelda Four Swords and Swapnote show that gamers gravitate to the eShop.
Good thing the iOS is also a gaming platform.

Final Fantasy 1, 2 and 3, as well as Sword of Mana and Crono Trigger all rated very highly in the iOS sales charts. Square Enix's premium two iOS-only games, Chaos Rings and Chaos Rings, were both inside the top 10, despite being amongst the most expensive iOS games.

Oh boy your face must be red now for making assumptions and not researching before launching on an anti-iOS tirade despite clearly not owning one.

Nah. I doubt facts are going to get in the way of this opinion, somehow.

I agree as well. The only good iOS game that I experienced was the port of Monkey Island 2. That was well executed. It is an improvement however that they also made it for Android, since that's a better crowd. The best selling iOs games are Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, Scrabble, Where's My Water?, Where's Waldo, and Fruit Ninja. Final Fantasy is not going to be anywhere near. http://www.148apps.com/top-apps/top-paid-iphone-games/

"Companies are also taking a closer look at their customers. “I believe the Android users are more hardcore than the iOS users,” said Gary Gattis, CEO of mobile game developer Spacetime Studios. Those “hardcore” customers are the ones playing Spacetime’s massively multiplayer 3-D online games.
Spacetime launched its first title, Pocket Legends, on iOS in April, 2010. Despite a seven-month lag for the Android version, the split between users is already 50/50. For its newest title, Star Legends (released in August), Spacetime went with Android first.

Android appeals to Spaectime’s target demographic: men and women 18 to 29 years old. Their iOS users are much younger--boys from 13 to 18, many playing on a parent’s iPod touch. The kids may be equally passionate, but they don’t have credit cards to purchase in-game upgrades. Given these benefits for game companies, it’s not surprising that they are among the biggest proponents of Android."

Comparing iOS users to Android users is pretty meaningless when it's easier to illegally acquire apps on Android devices.

Don't compare a user base. End of.
