Topic: Dreamcast Repair?

Okay, my Dreamcast just died on me...so I was wondering if there were any good places to get it repaired (preferably in Australia, but overseas places are fine too if they do shipping).

Oh...and I tried fixing it myself...but that didn't turn out too well.

Well, it first started re-setting itself (a problem that is common I believe), but eventually it wouldn't power on for me at all (though the power light would still shine). I opened it up and tinkered with the insides (following an online guide to fixing the reset issue), but upon putting it back together, it now no longer works at all (no lights - no nothin'!).

You're right, the reset problem is really common but I can't think of a fix for its current problem other than (and I hate to say this) getting rid of it and buying another one. Sounds like probably the best bet, really.

The classic 'reset' problem. I managed to fix my Dreamcast when that happened a few years back and it still works! Hope you find a cheap replacement.

Probably the cheapest and quickest way to solve your problem is like what James said just buy another one.

that's an NTSC dreamcast with good seller ratings and a decent price, if I actually had money I'd buy it myself, but... yeah

The only thing is though the OP lives in Australia and the seller says that he only ships to US and Canada.

Thanks a lot for the help guys. I did try ringing SEGA Australia, and they said they don't do repairs anymore, bah.

Oh well, I guess I'll just buy a new one...maybe I'll buy two (one to play, and one to keep)!

Ah sorry didn't realize that, I'll bet you can find an AU one just as cheap though

@Kage_88 I have four Dreamcasts because you're never sure just when you're going to need a few back-ups.
