2. Mega Man 2
3. Resident Evil 2
4. Mortal Kombat 2
5. Mario Galaxy 2 (obviously)

Ok you just made no sense you said you are talking about direct sequels not random games in a series yet you listed TMNT2: The Arcade game, which is not a direct sequel to the first Ninja Turtle game on the NES. The only reason it was called TMNT2 was because of the other game that came out on the NES called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Anyway here is my picks

Super Mario Bros 3
Megaman 3
Soul Caliber 2
Super Street Fighter 4
World of Warcraft
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
WWE: Day of Reckoning 2
Final Fantasy IV: The Years After (The only true sequel in the Final Fantasy series)
Final Fight 3
Donkey Kong Jr.

DKC 2 : Diddy's Kong Quest
Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Star Fox 64
......can't think of any more at the moment.
I haven't played Mario Galaxy 2 yet, but it would probably be on the top of this list

Percentful

Halo 2
Star Wars Battlefront 2
M&L partners in time
Super Smash Bros. Melee/Brawl
Metroid Prime 2
CoD MW 2
...and there are a bunch more. In most cases, I like sequels more than the original. I know for a fact that Paper Mario ttyd is the best sequel ever created.

Just let it happen.

@Bleach - the European version of the game that I own is called Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer. I remember having fun with that game when I was little. I just cannot understand why some games' titles are altered whenever they're either released in NA and/or EU, when it happens.

In all my years of loving that game, I've never known that. It's rather odd, I think, as Glimmer was just one level... >.>

Super Mario Galaxy 2 FTW.

Also, wasn't mentioned:

Monkey Island 2
Warcraft 2 (that's the direct sequel)
Maniac Mansion 2: Day of The Tentacle
Quest for Glory 2
Dune 2
Eye of the Beholder 2
