@Tasuki - did you know that Theme of Simon (slightly remixed as stage 1 in Super CV 4) actually originated in Castlevania X68k? It was the final stage theme.

@Link - such a classic! I love some of the underrated Drac X stuff...if only they could remake all those songs without those "OMG-listen-to-all-this-reverb!!!!!" samples that were so popular in CD-based music in the mid-90s...

@ Swerd_Murd Yep I just can't get enough of that amazing Rondo music. It's Castlevania with a sorta Techno flair and It really fits well with the game. Opus 13 is another good one. Never before have my ears experienced such bliss!

@wave - hands-down the best track off of the LoI soundtrack...too bad the area it's from/game it's from is so mediocre-to-terrible.
Long hallways with barely any enemies or incentives to keep playing ftl. 2D Castleroid does not translate well into 3D Castleroid.
EDIT - might as well post another good one from the 3d wannabe Castleroid series from PS2...this one's the opening area track from Curse of Darkness [youtube:jmKUJZp4Kuc] 1:11 and on just goes nuts. This game's even worse than Lament of Innocence though
Wish I was not at work so I could actually listen to some of posted videos. I love Castlevania music, my favorte VGM. Rondo of Blood is the best soundtrack in my opinion. Some of my favorite tracks come from Super Castlevania IV and two of my favorite but lesser known tracks that really stand out to me are during the Level 2 Forest (can remember the track name) and then "Waterfalls."
Waterfalls is awesome, for me it captures the mood unlike any other music in a game. You really get the somber sense that as SImon is slowly making his way up and over to Dracula's castle he has a moment to contemplate the seemingly impossible task that lays ahead of him and what were to happen should he fail.
I'm not quite sure why Castlevania fans always seem to forget the best theme. They usually bring up Bloody Tears, or Tears of Dracula, but none stand up to Battle of the Holy. It is the very essence of Castlevania, and is the best candidate for the series theme. [youtube:yUUWYVAyJmY]

@Ravage - WOW! Way to post the MSX version of Vampire Killer (from--ironically, the game Vampire Killer). Forgot that version even existed for a minute. Crazy how much infinitely-cleaner the NES version sounds...god bless that soundchip
Which is called Green Serenade on iTunes for some reason.Specifically the Dracula X Chronicles arrangement.This is actually a hidden track on the American port of Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse to promote ABC's upcoming song.
