So, with GTA 5 on the way, it's got me thinking. What if they made a GTA that took place in the future? Example: Hovercars, Futuristic weapons, and Futuristic buildings.

I've constantly had ideas of what if there was a Zelda game that took place in more modern times, with like cars and cities and stuff. Because it's almost always taken place in a more medieval-esque world with knights and castles. Because technology has gotta evolve eventually, right? I dunno

It worked with Red Dead Redemption which is essentially a old West version of GTA, I don't see why it wouldn't work with a futuristic setting I don't think the setting matters as long as the soul of the game is still there.

That being said @MrWalkieTalkie I don't think a modern Zelda would work because the thing about Nintendo and it's fans is that they are purists to the extreme and even the tiniest bit of change is a big deal for them. (example would be NSMB 2 which really does nothing new to the series but OMG you can get way more coins in a stage than you normally would, that makes the game completely different)

@MrWalkieTalkie :

Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, The Phantom Hourglass, and Majora's Mask don't have a medieval setting. Heck, Spirit Tracks has a train in it. I honestly can't imagine a Zelda game taking place in modern times. Link would logically be in school/at work, I don't think riding a horse down the street is legal, and how could they make the story work? It would betray the franchise.

@SomeBitTripFan Yeah I know, but that's what makes it very interesting to think about.

Also, there was concept ideas of having Link travel to the far future. This Zelda wearing a futuristic outfit.
