No matter what game I'm in: I can never escape this series.

I hate how I immediately recognised them as well, so much so that I did a double take to make sure I wasn't going crazy.

Splatoon having gay Ace Attorney (or Gayce Attorney, as its commonly referred to (no its not)) fan art is very unsurprising to me.

Nintendo is shockingly permissive in terms of what they'll allow to be uploaded in this game.

Good for them, though. If I ever see gay Ace Attorney fanart on the in-game environments, it'll be a memorable photo opportunity.

Why is it so hard for shippers to understand that childhood friends don't need to be gay in order to care about each other?

Absolutely true, its way too overdone. Phoenix Wright isn't gay.

@Donkey-Kong-Fan Well, first off, shippers don't necessarily care if something is canonically supported or not. How boring would fandoms be if everyone just politely lined up only behind officially confirmed character pairings?

However, I do think their relationship is... intense and peculiar enough that a reading of them as suppressed homosexuals or homoromantic asexuals isn't necessarily incorrect. I mean, you don't need to read their relationship that way, but aside from Iris dating Phoenix for a few months in college, there does seem to be a complete lack of romance in their lives. They also think about each-other pretty constantly when they're apart at several points in the series (hell, reuniting with Edgeworth, if I recall correctly, was a massive part of the reason why Phoenix became a defense attorney!), and if they are just friends, their emotional relationship is unusually intense one. I do think male friendship can take many non-traditional forms, and I'm not invalidating that reading of their relationship, but it shouldn't be surprising that people are reading more into their relationship than you are.

Also, Edgeworth is fussy and wears a pink suit with a cravat. Again, heterosexual male gender expression can take many valid forms, but... c'mon.

I'm willing to bet that a ton of gay men who aren't zoomers or very young millennials probably had at least one girlfriend before fully coming out of the closet, lol.

I wish I could play the original games, since I really really loved Great Ace Attorney. Sadly though, there's no release of the original three games that lets you disable the constant flashing, and the strobe effect bothers me, even though I'm not epileptic.

Okay but I have to say, so far, Maya Fey is a god. I wasn't sure about her at first but her personality and absolutely hilarious side-commentary for everything you examine is so likeable.

BUT IS IT A LADDER OR A STEP-LADDER DAMNIT.

It's always great to see people meet iconic AA characters for the first time and Maya is one of my absolute favourites as well: highly endearing personality, comes in surprisingly clutch when necessary and has one of my favourite character themes not just in the series, but in video games as a whole. Maya is fantastic.

Also, I assume you're on Case 4 of the first game? If so, oooooooooh boy you are in for some bangers later on as well (fun fact: the case right after the one you're currently on is my favourite in the entire series )

@VoidofLight That was a great QoL feature from Great AA that I enjoyed. The flashing lights definitely got to me after I while, and I don't even have a problem with my vision.

@FroZtedFlake Turnabout Goodbyes is absolutely incredible and definitely one of my favorites as well.

Also yeah Maya is a legend. She is my favorite sidekick from the games in the series I've played so far.

Currently going through the series again. Played the original trilogy, then I picked up GAA so stopped to play that, then got back into Apollo Justice and am now in the third case of Dual Destinies. I'd forgotten just how great just about everything is. Like, I often hear people say how bad the second and fourth games are, at least compared to the rest of the series, but I don't think so. The last case of Justice for All might be my second favorite case in the series after the final case of T&T. And you think you know all about the first case of the game just being a tutorial and it's obvious who the culprit is, and then Apollo Justice just slaps you upside the head with its first case to blow all your misconceptions away. The entire series is just phenomenal.

@Fizza Oh yep, case 4 of the first game, I should hopefully get a chance to play more tomorrow, I just wanted to beat AA 1 to take a short break from Xenoblade 3 (Not a bad break I freaking love that game too so far) I expected it to be a meh filler game though looks like I might get sucked into the rest of the series now.

So I was just scrolling through old tweets relating to Pokemon Legends Arceus a few minutes ago (mainly for nostalgia's sake) and I came across an utter bombshell of a fact:
