the DS cannot connect to a router using WPA encryption. It's WEP or nothing in terms of security. Same for DS games being played on a DSi; though the DSi itself can handle WPA, the DS software cannot.
that said, i thought DQ9 had local-only multiplayer?

That's rubesh. Why design software that can't actually work with, well, my router?
@AmorousBadger: if there was a way around it, people would be doing it already.

^ that would work, provided you're not running Linux (or at least it wouldn't work under Linux as of late last year). The real Nintendo-made ones, though, are out of print, so if you can't find or afford a real one, you can probably get a generic one from Hong Kong off'a eBay. No telling how long that'll last you, though :3

Cheers, I'll check that out. The GC controllers I had from Hong Kong two years ago are pretty solid, I'll see what the prices are. I'm not THAT keen to play DS games online, but it would be nice of me and Badger Jr at least had the option.
i wish there was something like ad-hoc party for the wii and ds. That would be awesome!
sup, I will give you advice if you ask. FC: Wii Console:3985-2203-0804-1295 SSBB:0173-0975-3949 MKW:3738-0981-3164 Toribash:3481-69299534 HG-1162-1907-7904 Goldeneye:514439432409
My router is WPA encryption as well but I went to the router settings and my router is pro enough to let me switch it to WEP So like if you can mess around with settings for that or something try it. I've got the downloadable quests but I cant do them yet. Do you have to beat the story first?
Check out SUBLIME GAMER, my YouTube Channel
God loves you

Any way round it?
Make a temporary WEP password and save it on your DS on Connections 1, 2, or 3.
Whenever you want to connect, type the gateway of your router into the URL address and switch to WEP. It didn't take me long to switch back and forth
