@YellowFighter Mate, I totally believe you that you do not have some sort of weird obsession with the Wii U and those games no one cares about anymore. You've absolutely convinced me in this regard, though I was only just a little concerned seeing as how you appeared to be like a stuck record mentioning them again and again and again and againandagain. But we're cool now, I was wrong. Let's take the message of this song as golden so we can move on and hope for better in the future yeah?

There were a few games that didn't have much content. Mario Party 10 and Mario Tennis Wii U obviously had less content than the previous games in their series and Splatoon initially had only a few maps and weapons. (That was fixed in later updates, but we still wouldn't want a repeat of that).

Meanwhile, the other 90% of Wii U games...

I just want a nice, steady stream of 1st-party titles. I don't know what's feasible, because hey: I'm not a game developer or publisher. So, I don't know, is one every 3 or 4 months asking too much?

Outside of that god awful gap after launch, I think that happened? And like 2013 and 2014's latter half had quite a bit more than that? Your point more demonstates why 3rd parties are still relevant tbh. And why perception is everything.

My worst fear is region locking, as a result you miss out on so many great games that do not make it into Europe or the lengthy waiting times for a translation. Why I liked the DS so much, I was able to get imported games for it and play new releases much quicker.

Severely limited stock that will prohibit the console from establishing a nice foothold.

"They will leave Mario Kart 8 Switch version out of their big presentation and put way too much only in a quick look in a montage" was not my prediction, just so you know.

Could've been worse then, I guess.

There are 2 games announced for the release date. And one of them is even a typical Nintendo gimmick game.

2.

Let that sink in.

Mostly disagree. First of all, I think several Ubisoft titles are confirmed for launch and Bomberman. But even ignoring that, I find it so much more appealing that they are spreading out releases throughout the year (and they actually are, I don't mean there'll be only 3 games between launch and August or something). They got their casual game and the biggest game at last year's E3. Already better than 3DS or Wii U in my book. And this makes more sense to do ESPECIALLY since they are launching at such a weird time. The console needs to have consistent momentum throughout the year, it can't just be forgotten for months because you put all the games at launch.

Heh, yeah, typical Nintendo console releases, it's no surprise, but only this time, 1 of those games is the biggest release of 2017, I doubt no other game for the whole of 2017 could topple it. Everyone is looking forward to Breath of the Wild, it looks brilliant.

I'm not seeing a great deal of positivity anywhere on the internet about most of the Switch presentation, so they've already started borking things.

The trouble is, everything is up against Zelda. Nothing else really compares or can compete on a Nintendo system. Once that's out of the way, maybe we'll start seeing something actually worth buying a Switch for that isn't Zelda or Mario.

That would be Splatoon 2, which is even being used to sell Mario Kart now

It's insulting for Nintendo executives to bow to Nintendo fans during Dorect presentations then don't listen to fans and repeatedly overcharge them.

Splatoon may well interest the majority of Nintendo fans, but not all of them and definitely not fans of other systems. Having to pay for online play may well put off some that enjoyed the first episode too.

I do think that Nintendo have a small number/selection of games for almost everybody; the trouble is that people really wanted and expected more - both from Nintendo (including VC) and third parties. I know I certainly did.

I think you are spot on. The nintendo switch with its lin up portfolio is designed to attract the attention of non wii u owners first and foremost, not really promising anything to wii u owners, as botw might still be released on that buried console (wouldnt be surprised if it doesnt). There is no incentive for me to buy it day one. Paid online gaming is not cool, I dont play that much online and if I have to pay for something that I use every now and then, well, thats not for me.

@Andrzej777 All the Nintendo Switch games I plan on getting were originally on Wii U. The new games for Switch, like 1, 2, Switch and ARMS, don't interest me.

So I guess you didnt own a wii u. Dont get me wrong. I fully understand nintendos approach. Its just that they dont seem to make it up for wii u ownes who, in some way, trusted nintendo and were left behind. For me its like getting botw on the switch on release, mario odyssey for xmas, and xenoblade nobody knows when. Splatoon, I am not sure I want that if online is to be paid. Mario kart 8 is fantastic, I just dont know if I am going to continue after over two years of playing.

@Andrzej777 I actually own a Wii U, and just want to play the same games over again but with new features. 😛

Yeesh. They really borked up this time. I'm not even impressed by Mario.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

What is there to be impressed about of a generic city?
