@gcunit Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection price really makes a very hard argument for me to buy. I rather stick to the 3DS remakes of 1 & 2 since the re-balances have improved them significantly at least imo.

DO YOU HEAR ME!?!
@jedgamesguy I like that Nintendo appears to be testing the waters as far as Mario RPGs go. Hopefully the great reception for two remade classics and a new entry in a series thought dead will show the company that there is some room still for classic turn-based elements. Not to say I don't like the modern entries I have played, but The Origami King's combat grew old for me after two hours. What's crazy is I like puzzles, but not with insane time limits...and not ones where matching is poor to non-existent.
Yoko Shimomura's OG soundtrack for Super Mario RPG is superb. While I've intentionally heard very little of the remake's tunes, the jazzed up music does sound promising so far!
Can't speak for Origami King, or any of the Paper Mario games really, my first one was the TTYD remake. Closest I came before that was Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros. which crossed the two franchises over. It was only cosmetic though, the mainline Paper Mario games followed "paper physics" if you will while this game just... added paper stuff into the world.
Still, long way to go until we see if our wallet voting works. They've given us both styles of game, whichever one is the most successful is the one going forward. Ideally there's a place for both,
@jedgamesguy Yep, we will have to see how the wallet voting goes. I quite like the Mario RPGs I've played, but at the end of the day I think I prefer the turn-based systems in Super Mario RPG, the M&L entries I've played so far, and TTYD. I did like the platforming in Super Paper Mario even if it was a tad clunky at times. In Color Splash and Origami King....It's telling when I'm actively running from enemies for most of the game when I can manage.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
Craziest thing happened yesterday, went into a local store to check out what they had and I saw Sonic Superstars for £21.99 despite their website stating it was £34.99. This wasn't just a sticker either, this was on a label underneath the shelf so it applied to all the copies they had.
I took it to the counter and asked if they could check the price and it came out as £34.99 at which point I mentioned the price on the shelf. After they'd seen it for themselves and executed some complicated touch-screen manouvres, they honoured it (I mean, you couldn't not honour it, that would just be misleading customers!)
By the sounds of it, it was just a complete misprint but I was well chuffed😄
@Nintoz If i's a genuine mistake (like they forgot to update a recent sale price) and they're not going to lose too much then they'll usually honour it. The only other option is to refuse the sale as they can't - or at least shouldn't - sell it for more than the shelf label states.
I have been hunting for physical switch games before Nintendo semi retires the console next year. Where I am, first party games are very difficult to find at an affordable price so I decided to roll with a third party title. I picked out Shin Megami Tensei III HD since it was only 30 dollars on Amazon, which never happens! Looking forward to my first smt game tomorrow
Got the Ness Amiibo not a game, but thought I would mention it. For actual games I got:
Pokemon Violet and the DLC
WarioWare Get It Together!
Animal Crossing New Horizons
Another Code: Recollection
Weirdly I actually remember sort of liking Pokemon? Even though I am very aware that it looks not good graphically and that its not very polished especially compared to other Nintendo games, but there is some enjoyment in it.
I've also been picking up many of these earlier Switch games I just missed like Warioware and Animal Crossing. I do plan on buying a few more things in a week or so including my OLED TOTK Switch, which I've been very much looking forward to buying.
I know there's a new console coming out soonish, but I don't really care I've wanted this thing for months and now I'll finally have it.
@ShonenJump121 I finished playing Pokemon Scarlet along with the DLC recently and I have to say I liked it too and don't think it is anywhere near as bad as some people make it out to be. I liked the new Pokemon, the characters and traveling around the Paldea region and my youngest Niece who is a big Pokemon fan enjoyed the game too even more than 'Pokemon Legends: Arceus' which she thought was pretty scary 'cause the Pokemon attack you. lol
The graphics weren't great but I am not very fussy when it comes to games having the latest greatest graphics since I still play a lot of older 3D Platform games and I surprisingly didn't have any problems with glitches and get stuck and have to restart the game like I have had to do with some other games and was expecting that with all the complaints about glitches.
I picked up Splatter - Zombiecalypse Now + The Hong Kong Massacre from the eShop for £1.79!! 97% Off!!!!! Well worth it, I think both games are really good. This deal runs until the 18th for anyone interested.
I also saw another deal... Deflector + Syndrome + Warhammer Dakka Squardron also for £1.79...I'm not sure about this one, none of the games have been reviewed on this site, not sure if they are any good?
