I really wish they'd localize it. I bought the game a while back and imported it, but since I don't understand Japanese, and it's a story based game, I can't say I've been having that much fun with it. I know they sadly won't localize the game though, unless they go through Nintendo to get it published. I doubt they will, since Yokai Watch didn't do that well in the west, and isn't doing so well in Japan now.

I'd at least like a release of Yo-Kai Watch 4. Considering the series's waning popularity, Level-5 pulling out of North America, and the fact that Yo-Kai Watch 3 had a very limited physical print run (sigh), I'm unfortunately not holding my breath.
Currently playing: Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir (Switch)
Switch Physical Collection - 1,322 games (as of November 7th, 2024)

I only ever played Yokai Watch 2 on 3DS but I really enjoyed it (until my handheld crapped out). I need to try another game in the series but I know almost nothing about it.
I'm not worried about the 1st game's remaster, since we were never really promised to get it. With 4, I feel like they probably silently canceled the localization, since they did confirm it was coming, but now it seems really unlikely.

@VoidofLight yep. it sucks too because at this point, ill just take a text translation with japanese audio. and it sucks that they wont localize the remaster of 1 considering the game is already 100% translated, how hard could it be? : (
regardless, im having a blast with 4 even if its in another language
@NikHogan I wish I were the same. I can't even really get through the game due to parts where it forces you to complete side quests to continue. Not to mention the one thing that kind of bums me out a bit is how they left out so many areas of the original town.

@VoidofLight YES!! it bothers me that not all of springdale is accessible at all. and the framerate is a huge yikes. I got past the sidequest barrier by learning that if you always set your in-game clock to midnight, it usually works and the check marker goes active. i also watch many tutorials
@Green_Shyguy Yeh, you put it nicely. It's that vibe, plus the visual presentation is top notch. I've only played part of YW1 so far, but I've taken so many screenshots because I just love the style of presentation.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@Green_Shyguy that totally makes sense! The 2nd game especially gives me feelings of warmth and comfort like when you visit your grandma. And the 3rd one takes place in the USA so the setting is much more relatable (For me at least since I live there). I really don't want to see this series die, and I feel if Nintendo released the games in the summer like Japan did, sales would be much better.
@Anti-Matter Yokai Watch 3 is really good haha! I understand why they put it into 1 version for the international release but I love the thrill of version exclusives, I would've picked Tempura because of Tomnyan.
@NikHogan
I was so lucky to get Yokai Watch 3 Tempura version despite the game was Japanese version (i can read some Japanese texts but didn't really understand with the meaning).
I use the Japan version to measure my seriousness about playing Yokai Watch 3 game before someday i can get the English version from Ebay.
@VoidofLight it doesn't, but there is a stealth minigame at one point that I won't spoil. And the oni can still attack you if you cross the road wrong (never thought i'd say that about a game)
