If you look online there are multiple fan theories about this, even in the latest Monolith soft 25th anniversary video, they showed Elma and KOS-MOS appearing at the same time; I was shocked when I finished Xenoblade X, to learn that Elma's true form looks identical to KOS-MOS.
Monolith softs games rock! I wish all of them could be ported to the Switch/Switch 2.
Best studio in gaming in my opinion.
@xenobladexfan I did finish XCX and have heard/seen the KOS-MOS comparisons. I quite like the nod even if my first exposure to that character was through her being a Blade in XC2. I've not played the Xenosaga games so know pretty much nothing about the character outside of her Xenoblade cameos.

@xenobladexfan There are definitely some similarities there between some of the themes in Xenoblade and Xenosaga. I'd love if the latter series would jump to the Switch or a more modern platform sometime. Can't say I'm too confident unfortunately. For the time, that video's production values were very good.

@Tyranexx , I know it is amazing sometimes how excellent the quality of games were in the 6-7 generation of video game consoles, I would happily buy the trilogy if ported to switch.
Xenoblade X is literally another iteration of Xenosaga.
I mean all of the Xeno games are iterations of the same thing. Xenosaga is an iteration of Xenogears. Xenoblade is an iteration of both Gears and Saga. X is nothing really special there. Especially in regards to where the mainline Blade games are heading, hinting at Klaus' world basically being the same earth that disappeared in Saga.

@Vortexeo, I think the ending will finally be resolved, the trailer implies this.
XCX DE, is the best Nintendo announcement of 2024 I can't explain how hyped I am right now. 👍
@Vortexeo@DannyBoi, excellent announcement, as for the TV thing I know that Sony TVs are good anything fairly modern, best to read various tech advice websites as they are useful.
My only surprise is that they're doing it for the Switch rather than just its successor.
It looks like it'll be basically be the same game but with some extra story and some graphical tweaks. I doubt they'll get as much of a spruce up as XC:DE did, but the facial models could definitely use some work and maybe they'll incorporate the scaling tech from XC3 that gives a sharp picture on both TV and handheld.
@Joeynator3000@Matt_Barber, already pre ordered my copy, really hyped for the game; I noticed there are rumours online circulating that David Menkin/Malos, is the black knight's voice actor.
I see the Switch NSO News app is confirming that XCX Definitive Edition will have an online component where up to 32 players can squad up to gather resources and complete missions to help New L.A.’s reconstruction. You have to complete chapter 3 of the main game to unlock online play.
Did we already know this? I don’t follow the news all that closely. Also I wonder if this online component is more robust than it was on the Wii U? I never tried the online missions back then.
Either way it’s still so nice to see this game coming back!

@Teksette this sounds really cool, I played the original online on Wii U but the player base had already left by the time that I played the game in 2021.
In addition, because Japan is getting the same version as the US and Europe, this means more players because no region locked servers.
I remember it was straightforward to friend players on the Wii U, I hope the switch version is easy to find players too.
I remember seeing a player in XCX, who played the game for 3000 hours due to the online mode.
@xenobladexfan
I agree this online co-op sounds neat, and I may even try it out a bit this time around.
If memory serves, back on the Wii U the online play was more about taking down huge legendary monsters with a handful of other players, which didn’t particularly appeal to me back then.
The squads seem bigger this time, maybe with a bigger variety of co-op tasks you can do. If we play it on Switch Deux can we use voice chat?? Probably not, but time will tell.
