There is a rumour circulating online, right now to do with leaker Midori, who said that Xenoblade X will be remastered into a definitive edition in 2025.
I hope this is true, also Ryan from the Bronx's, X account has been removed after a few days of the leak.
It's the last game stuck on the Wii U that I care about.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,294 games (as of September 28th, 2024)

@Magician, I agree, as someone who sank 500hours+ into this game, a title of this calibre shouldn't be stuck on the Wii U, I think Nintendo should definitely do either a Switch/Switch2 port, or put the game on Steam.
@SillyG, I hope so, if Nintendo re releases the game, I would pre-order the limited edition within an instant, I really miss the unique world and vibes but the story was incomplete with a frustrating cliff hanger ending.
@xenobladexfan It came from Midori, so therefore it's false. Please don't give people like them any credit. The "Crazy Taxi" remake info they "leaked" wasn't actually from them, and various other sources got ahold of the information before they did. It's another Samushunter situation.

@xenobladexfan They got info correct in the past, yes. However you are ignoring one crucial thing. They got outed as being a creep who trades for dubious information with dubious information. Their claim to fame were Atlus leaks from a powerpoint they stole. They traded said information to other leakers in attempt to get other info outside of that Atlus stuff. Eventually they started making things up to trade because they ran out of information and thus got dubious information back.
This is also ignoring the fact that Midori was a white man roleplaying online as a racist caricature of a Japanese woman. People really need to stop giving this man credit for this sort of thing.

Even if Midori is just guessing, I think there's a pretty good likelihood Xenoblade X gets a rerelease sooner rather than later, since Monlithsoft has been so quiet after Future Redeemed. I wouldn't be surprised if the side team that worked on Xenoblade DE is also working on Xenoblade X.
If I had to make an educated guess at Monolith's next project...
They'll want something out for the launch year of the new hardware. It seems a bit soon after XC3 for a brand new game. Of their older games, XCX would be the most desirable that they own outright, assuming XC1-3 can be played through backward compatibility. So, yes, a 2025 re-make of XCX for the Switch 2 seems like the path of least resistance for them.
There are a lot of ifs and maybes in there though, so don't get your hopes up.
I think with Xenoblade X being one of the only major Wii U titles not to be ported to the Switch, a port is all but guaranteed at this point. Much like how Wind Waker / Twilight Princess HD were guaranteed in 2021...wait, 2022...no...2023...no?
All jokes aside, I'd love to see XCX come to Switch, and it makes a lot of sense for it to happen (hence why it is commonly rumoured). But, as usual, I'll only believe it when I hear it from Nintendo.
I feel like X being remastered or remade is actually pretty unlikely. Monolithsoft themselves have gone on record to say how expensive it would be to port the game on it's own, let alone remake the thing. There's a reason why they probably haven't touched X or made a sequel to it- and instead opted to make Xenoblade 2 and 3.

@Matt_Barber, @Ulysses@Buizel, I wish Monolith soft would port all their games to Nintendo hardware, Xenosaga 1&2 was released on the DS in Japan only, so out of all the Xeno series, Nintendo is only missing Xenogears and Xenosaga 3.
I think Monolith Soft should work on re-releasing all Xeno games not represented on the Switch and port them to Switch/Switch2 before working on the next entry.
The ending of Future Redeemed suggested all Xeno games are connected.
@xenobladexfan That wasn't actually what the radio was suggesting at all. The radio was just a massive easter-egg to the other Xeno games- all of which were most likely not canon. The only games that could probably be connected are the Saga games and that's only due to other things we've seen in Xenoblade 2 and 3. Things like the Savorite rebels and Klaus' world sharing the same architecture style as what Xenosaga's human civilizations had.
All of the other Xeno games are never coming to switch since Monolith is at the mercy of the IP holders. Bandai owns Xenosaga (which makes it more likely that could come to Switch, given that Bandai and Nintendo have a good relationship with one another), and Square Enix owns the full rights to Xenogears. Monolithsoft tried to purchase the rights to Gears but Square basically told them they couldn't have it, and they've been squatting on the rights to the game for years.
It would be up to Square and Bandai to remake Gears and Saga, and with Square only using Gears for cameos and Bandai saying how there wasn't enough interest to justify a remake of Saga- we're not getting either of those.
Realistically X is the only game Monolith could port, and even then they've mentioned time and time again that it's too expensive to justify porting the game, let alone remaking it. I imagine they're content just sticking to mainline Xenoblade. Especially since it reuses ideas that were originally planned for X anyways.

This would be lovely! It seems unique among its series and I like the harder sci-fi tone, a bit more simlar to my beloved Xenosaga. Plus I didn't really click with the Wii U so I've never played this. Fingers crossed!

I can recall one interview, in 2018, when Tatsuya Takahashi said that he wanted to bring the game to Switch but it would be unlikely because it would be too expensive. That's basically it, though. The game is mentioned in several later interviews, including one with Koh Kojima where he expressed his desire to make a sequel, but nothing about possible re-makes is ever confirmed or denied.
Suffice it to say that that the series seems on a far surer footing these days than it was in 2018, and the financial equations may have changed to the extent that what wasn't viable on Switch might have become that way for Switch 2.
We're also in a better situation with Xenosaga, thanks to the successful release of the Baten Kaitos remasters. It won't necessarily be a big budget project and Monolith's involvement may again be minimal, but the door at least looks partially ajar now.
@Matt_Barber Just hope that if they do port or remake X that X2 doesn't take resources away from Xenoblade 4. I just really really hate X and don't want a sequel if that sequel is the future of Xenoblade as a whole. Has nothing I enjoyed about the other Xenoblade titles.

I love X, think it has some great gameplay and world design, but I won't hold my breath for any port, it's a massive challenge and costly as hell to boot.
