I finished chapter 7 and 8 last night and sort of forgot to go and get myself a skell, so I did that as well. Grabbed my 3 partners skells as well and gave us all some upgrades. Silly question, but if you change your party, can you give them a skell previously used by someone else? I'm sure it's on the system menus indicating yes or no, but just thought I'd ask.
@NintendoByNature You can. Just go to the barracks and then the customization. You can register any skell you have to your party by “register pilot”. I hope that helps!
@Kraven sounds good. I've only fiddled with the skells on ch 8 so far. Chapter 9 shows I'm at the level recommended for the chapter so I guess I'll do some grinding to get at least 3-4 levels over.
@NintendoByNature If you want a quick way to level up, use your skell to fight enemies about 7-10 levels above you. Your skell should easily tear through the enemies, and you’ll get tons of XP.
@NintendoByNature Upgrade your skell, btw. Chapter 9 has a boss fight that can be tough. Make sure you have bought skells for all four party members too. Trust me, lol.
@Kraven by upgrade I'm assuming you mean buying new weapons and such for the skell? I've purchased 4 skells for my crew in total including myself. And purchased a weapon for each limb etc. I'll be doing the skell trick though to do some grinding soon here. My goal is to grind a little tonight and at the very least start ch 9 before I call it a night.
@NintendoByNature Yeah, you’ve done the right thing! I also think you can buy new frames for your skell that gives you a ton of more health instead of using the base one that you got from the story. Good luck! Let me know how it goes for you!
I was doing one last mission before starting starting chapter 6 and finally getting a skell, ugh. In the BFFs mission, if you do the early objectives in a certain order, a later one doesn't load. Super disappointing. I hate to abandon the game because I love the series, but it's too much time lost. I tweeted at Monolith Soft about it but patches don't come fast.
In case it's not already obvious, it's a good idea to save the game before starting any affinity or story mission and not overwrite that slot until it's finished, because there's no other way of backing out of most of them.
