I'm only on chapter 2 I think? But I'm adoring this game! I' m at the part with the morbuis guy and WOW HDWHDbwdalkEWeWHDBHKJO!!!!! WHOA THE TRANSFORMATION THEN FIGHTING THE MONSTER DUDE AND THEN THE FACTION TURNING ON ALL OF THEM THIS IS COOOL!!!!!!! sorry that was my inner kid talking... My real thoughts are down below
I never thought I'd like an RPG as much as this and I love the cut-scenes. Normally I'd pass them off (cut-scenes) but these are awesome and I'm really enjoying the combat. I'm currently at the point where you play as the other team and I really like the classes changing it keeps me on my toes.
Here's a tip for you all I wish I knew before playing the game: There's a limit of 99 ether tanks and Nopon coins. Spend some of them before you collect more or you're wasting valuable resources.
@Kermit1
I'm glad to hear you like the game so much.
Monolith sure knows how to create awesome cinematics, don't they?
@seaboyluca, Ah, that's good to know. They look pretty good in their default outfits (though I'd prefer it if you could customize their look more like in DE, or even if they had really unique designs like in 2), but seeing Mio with Noah's jacket slapped on her doesn't look right (similar thoughts about other combos).

Well they definitely give a lot to do on chapter 3. I am exploring every part of the map not blocked by high level enemies and have been doing colonies side quests for some 6/7h now lol
I'm at the part in chapter 2 now where you are heading to the south alfeto region and I don't know how to get there. I've been running around for the last half-hour trying to find out which way to go and I'm now wondering if I should do something with that yellow spy-glass on top of that cliff in the direction I need to go. I don't know what to do or where to head lol.
Will I need to finish Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to understand the story of Xenoblade Chronicles 3?
I plan to get back to playing the First Game on the Wii soon, and pick the second game afterwards.

I definitely think that this entry is a little harder than the previous ones. I've had a few of the bosses just a level or two above me and they'd insta KO all my healers which usually spells certain doom 😅.
I also learned to be careful when you take Ouroboros form, as you might accidentally take every healer or every defender off the field for a while and lead to a few characters being KO'd. There's definitely way more strategy in this game to wrap your head around 😁
Geez, this game goes all out with the side content once Ch. 3 comes along. Normally I'd ignore most of it and plough ahead with the main story, but most of the side-quests are decent enough that I actually want to pursue them. And, with the way the game is structured, side content leads to more side content almost naturally.
XC3 really is tremendous. If the story holds up until the end, I might have found one of my new favorite games on the system.

@Ralizah yep, I just finished chapter 3 after 33h (and level 40). Story wise however cannot say I am that invested. It is atm the weakest in the series.
@Balta666 It's second only to XC2 for me so far in terms of narrative/character development. Really enjoying the character interactions, the fascinating dark sci-fi worldbuilding, etc.
The music is probably the area where it's the weakest for me, but there are still a few really standout tracks, and even a mid-tier Xenoblade OST still blows nearly everything else away in the audio department.
Gotta say, though, the title screen music is pretty disappointing. It's barely audible, and lacks the emotion from the previous two games.
just bought Xenoblade DE in excitement for 3 but I am now regretting it because I don't have that time for commitment. Such a shame because I really wanted to play it.
I fear no man
but that thing:
The carrot minigame from bowser's inside story
it scares me
@Ralizah I love the story in xeno 2 and that is because it is more focused on the "hero" journey. This one so far is way more philosophical about the meaning of life and what not (which is fine but not my jam ) and I also feel the lack of a proper opponent with a face (Jin is such a moving force!).
But this is my initial to mid thoughts on it. It may well change as things move on.
Got to chapter 5 yesterday.
I love doing hero quests, since that makes me feel good when I get heroes that are optional.
And more cutscenes are never wrong either.
Moving a bit slower than others, just started chapter 3 last night, though I don't think I've quite arrived at the point where the side quests open up.
Just started the first "Hero Quest", where I have to look for Ethel.
