They been frequently posting about XC3 since release and have been began to post frequently again after the last trailer.
The newest posts about the combat confirm it has XC2's auto attacks so auto attack cancelling is confirmed which is nice.
@iLikeUrAttitude It also confirms that movement speed is increased during combat, so no more moving like a turtle to try to position your characters for arts... which was one of the biggest flaws of 2's combat, aside from the tutorials.

@VoidofLight I never minded that because positioning never mattered for any of the xenoblade games. It's far too easy to aggro the enemies you're fighting so you rarely get to utilize the positional arts anyway, even then it wasn't that much of a boost.
But yeah its nice that movement speed is a lot faster now during combat.
@iLikeUrAttitude I saw that clip and someone pointed out that the battle HUD is gone. I wonder if you can actually hide it or if they just did that for the sake of the clip
@VoidofLight Yeah you're probably right on that. I just thought it was interesting because the first clip of the gameplay footage (the one that I posted a while back) still had the battle HUD on screen so I'm curious why they did it here 🤔.
That aside did you see the items the enemies drop after battle? It looks like they drop items like in Xenoblade 2
Even though we have this, I'm pretty sure things like Potions might be gone, since it's a bit redundant when we have healing classes now. Eunie can even apparently revive party members with the use of an art, so there's no real need for the chain attack gauge to be 3 bars again.

One thing I'm curious of in this entry is if the healers are going to be good for once in a xenoblade entry. They usually fall off midgame and are useless endgame (cough sharla cough xc2 crit healing).
Maybe the fact that you can switch weapons helps but since the party members all have their designated roles I wonder how badly that'll affect them during gameplay.
@VoidofLight I was wondering how reviving party members was gonna work! If we have to depend on Eunie that might be a bit scary since that AI isn't always the best lol

@Vortexeo The combat may just be the best in the series. They're adding tons of quality of life features, more mobility, and on top of that, still retaining things like art cancelling.
