Topic: Xenoblade Chronicles 3

I'm wondering what the deal is with Alvis with this whole DLC. We see him, and then we see someone with the same necklace as an earing, wielding a monado looking sword. Was he split in half, or did he give up his form to get a new one? It doesn't make sense to me at the current, and I don't know if it actually will or not. Another thing I noticed was Z mentioned that Alvis was his God, or that's what it seemed like anyways. What does this meaaaaaaan?

Well, I was going to finally get Return to Dreamland Deluxe now that I've finished up Prime Remastered, but that's gonna be on hold now that this is dropping next week!

@VoidofLight It also looks like the theory that Alvis being Consul A ended up being false 🤔 This is definitely shaping up to be an exciting story.

Also, did anyone notice that the fog enemies from future connected made a comeback?? You can see it at the 1:23 mark in the trailer!

Interesting how Xenoblade Chronicles 3 itself came out quicker than I expected, and this DLC is the same. I was expecting a summer or autumn release this year.
I'm really excited, and despite the fact that I'm playing some other games right now I still want to play the new DLC soon after launch.

@Vortexeo It's not necessarily false. A has his core, so it has some relation to him. Also yeah, the Fog beasts are back.

Even though my copy is European, would the DLC still work on the copy if it were to be purchased off the NA eShop?

Loved the trailer, and I'm very glad this is coming out sooner than intended. I was banking on a summer/early autumn release as well. But...this is too close to Tears of the Kingdom. There's absolutely no way I'd finish this in time before that game drops in a couple weeks.

Plus, if there is a physical release for this like with Torna, I'd rather wait for that.

@LilyGoMEOW She does have that hair swept to the side design like Pyra now you mention it… it’s anyone’s guess really, everyone looks like they’re based on previous characters anyway. It would make sense considering this DLC is meant to tie it all togehter.

I am struggling on this one. On one hand you have the comeback of one of my favourites (Rex) but on the other as of now there is no physical version and no standalone dlc either so I need to fork 40$!!! to play this as the rest of the season pass I couldn't care less about it... I am not one to say this often but this shouts anti consumer imo

@Balta666 I think the absence of a physical version of Future Redeemed is that April 25th isn't the end of XC3 post-launch support so a physical version of Future Redeemed is questionable at this point in time (isn't the whole point of DLC as standalone physical to have everything on the cart/disc?).

The amiibo unlocks pretty much confirms there's an update happening sometime after July 21st.

@Grumblevolcano not having physical I understand (even though I would love to buy it). What I don't agree is to make you pay for the full season pass by not selling each dlc individually. Maybe is something other publishers do but I cannot remember any case (I very rarely buy dlc)

Okay, I think i figured out a way that I could possibly get the DLC for this game. Since I have both an OLED and a regular Switch, what I could possibly do is buy a NA physical copy, transfer the save data to the OLED Switch, buy the DLC and play it on the OLED.

Wasn't Torna on its own more expensive than the XC2 expansion pass, which came with both Torna and some extra stuff for the base game?

I sincerely doubt they'd sell Future Redeemed for any less than the expansion pass asking price as is. And, if it's another ultra-high quality 20 - 40 hour JRPG like Torna was, they shouldn't. It's a fair price.

Although I guess it'd be nice to have a reduced tier for someone who just wants the extras for the base game. shrug

@Ralizah Yeah Torna on its own was more expensive than the expansion pass by $10 iirc. Although from what I heard, buying Torna on its own would also give you download codes for the rest of the expansion pass through email. So it pretty much was the exact same stuff. I guess one option was just meant for those who already had the base game while the other was for those who wanted to start with Torna.

Does anyone know what time future redeemed is supposed to release? I know in NA it says it will release on April 25th but I see it releases on the 26th for the UK. I guess that means it'll be out pretty late at night?

Yeah, you got the full expansion pass with Torna. It's just that, if you used the code, you'd pretty much kill any resale value the game had.

I suspect that a lot of us ended up buying the expansion pass and a copy of Torna because of that.

Does anyone know when Wave 4 releases? I had expected a midnight release in the US, which would be 11 am for me, but I see nothing.

Gah, I always expect Nintendolife to cover the UK version of news because it's a British site, I thought it was releasing on the 25th over here as well, guess I gotta wait for tomorrow, stupid time zones. (Sorry, for the complaining, I just thought it was releasing today and now I find it's not.)

@Mrkittyhead @TeaCatherine While the US trailer shows April 25th release date, the UK trailer shows April 26th so it'll likely release around 6pm pacific/9pm eastern/2am UK time.
