Itβs 2 AM for the UK. Somebody in the discord server showed a picture with all the timezones on it. Itβll be 3 AM for me, I canβt wait! I thought it was going to be today but alas, have to wait a bit longer.
I keep buying fighting games for some reason, even though I barely got anyone to play against.
Yeah, it won't release until tonight for those of us in the US. I think it's the same time that the other DLC for XC3 launched as well. My game updated last night and seeing it do so just amplified my hype π
I'm glad something releases at a reasonable time for once on my end, usually I have to wait until midnight or later when some games or dlc are releasing.
But 9pm EST gives me plenty of time to enjoy myself and the dlc.
Here it's releasing at 3 AM... debating if I'll stay up to play it upon release or sleep some more and then play it in the morning. The temptation is biiiiiig.

Is the 1.4.0 update available yet? Wow I just realized that if Future Redeemed is at least 1.3 GB in size, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will now be over 20 GB! π
I stayed up until 1 AM, only to wake up to and see that it released at 8 AM.π I guess Iβll have to play it tonight. It was nice to have some time to play the other waves, I guess.
I'm really liking some of the new additions so far! I'm only an hour and a half in so I'm sure I have much more to discover. If I didn't have work tomorrow I'd probably play all night π
Still extremely early in the game, but my impressions so far:
Image quality seems even better docked than the base game was, although undocked, it might actually look a tad worse. Undocked still seems extremely presentable so far, though. Monolith is really pushing the Switch for all it's worth, it seems.
Disappointed with the amount of reused music so far. Hopefully that changes. This is also my least favorite battle theme in all of the Xenoblade DLCs to date.
Not really jiving with the new cast just yet, either.
The battle system just feels like a stripped down version of what we had in the base game so far, although hopefully they'll continue adding on mechanics.
Each area having an exhaustive checklist to tick off is interesting. I don't mind it in the context of this game, but it might be a little too Ubisoft for some people.
So apparently Xenoblade music just... exists in-universe? Hearing them list off tracks like Gaur Plains, Tomorrow With You, etc. was surreal.
So far, there doesn't seem to be a hook. I guess that's what the crossover stuff with Shulk, Alvis, and Rex is supposed to be, but it'll be disappointing if the whole game is just delving into the inane Klaus mythology. I thought maybe we'd build up to the destruction of the City, but apparently that's already happened.
That all sounds fairly negative, but... I mean, it's still Xenoblade 3. It's good. I'm enjoying myself. This was never going to compare favorably with XC3 like Torna did with XC2, because XC3 is missing almost all of the major flaws that afflicted the first two games.
Interestingly, he seems to have maintained his memories of the past, as it's already being heavily implied that he knows Glimmer is related to Pyra/Mythra. He said he knew it would have to happen eventually, which implies that... they were reborn into the world? I wonder why Pyra/Mythra no longer exist in their current forms (serious downer for me), but Melia and Nia are whole and also seem to maintain their memories?
Also... HOW OLD IS RIKU?! I was always suspicious of him, but clearly he's some sort of immortal being or something.
I'll say this: the Chapter 2 boss fight against Mobius W was confusing. I spent the longest time attacking him and wondering why I wasn't doing any damage. Had no idea I needed to attack the Ferronises first. In retrospect, I understand the logic (cut off the source of his energy before attacking him directly), but still...
I'm hoping for a physical release of this DLC pack because I don't think my copy is compatible with it due to it being a European version

The kid that wanted "Bringer of Chaos! Ultimate" is legendary...I mean how would you even play that on piano? πππ
I think something similar did happen in Xenoblade 2. If I recall correctly there are some NPCs in Indol that comment on the choir singing in the background. I find it pretty cool
