They discussed on IGN's Nintendo podcast and I felt it was a good discussion. Assuming it is the replacement for the Wii U and probably coming late next year..... What is it that makes anyone think NX will succeed more than the Wii U? What types of games is Nintendo going to make that can't be done on Wii U? Will a more powerful system make Nintendo games look better than they do on Wii U? To me it seems like Nintendo struggled enough making the leap to HD with the Wii U...please understand our delays. Are they really ready to make even more advanced games? More advanced games are more expensive to produce aren't they? What can they do that will make the NX more successful than the Wii U? Is it creating a machine that it is easy to port multi platform titles in hopes that they gain more 3rd party support? Even if that's the case I don't see it as a successful strategy as it didn't help the gamecube very much. These ports would be afterthoughts. Will it have a new gimmic? I doubt a gimmic is going to carry the day. A gimmic is always a gamble. The Wii U largely went away from gimmics with its mostly traditional controller scheme. I just don't see how releasing a new console is going to help anything. Sure the Wii U is not as successful as hoped but I don't see what it's lacking considering Nintendo's position. The Wii badly needed to be replaced much earlier than it was. I think it may have even helped the Wii U if it launched 2 years sooner when the Wii still had some power as a brand. I just don't see the need to replace the Wii U hardware wise and don't see how a new console is going to lead to any bigger success.

The Wii U didn't sell well at first. It still isn't selling well now. I don't think there's anything they can do to make the Wii U a success. As someone who owns a Wii U and doesn't want to fork over money for a new console so soon, I want to see it last longer. However, as a company who wants to earn profits, Nintendo kind of needs to release a new system, ASAP, to draw in a larger fanbase.

@Octane: I know @blaisedinsd challenged @Darth_Vader authority. Now he has to defend it and get it back! And @Not_Soos is talking about the Wiiu. Why is he talking about the Wiiu? It's dead! And i'm just here watching this thread burn.
