@Kimyonaakuma Release a port of a port of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker and port over Skyward Sword and all they‘d have to do is have VC up to N64 and we‘d have all the major Zeldas on the freakin go! If that thought doesn‘t get you excited, I honestly don‘t know what would.
@GoldenGamer88 That's what I'm hoping for! We'd have every home console Zelda in one place...and it would be portable!
If they give me every mainline Zelda game on a handheld then the Switch will easily become my favourite console ever, even though it might be anyway
....but it would be kind of weird to have them add the GamePad menus for Wii U and then remove them for Switch...oh well at least we'll still have motion controls for aiming arrows/hookshots/grappling hooks.
So, been thinking about it, and here's my thoughts on 3D World.
A: We now know Treasure Tracker has been ported over, which was built off of 3D World.
B: They've already put the work in to get all the gamepad features working on Switch, as far as I know there aren't any that haven't shown up.
C: We haven't seen news of any paid Odyssey DLC, despite how well the game did.
So here's my thoughts on how Nintendo will play this.
E3 2018: Announce both Mario Maker 2 (or whatever it's titled) for the holidays.
October/November Direct: Announce a 3D World port for the spring.
E3 2019: Announce Super Mario Odyssey 2 for 2020 (eventual holiday release).
October/November Direct 2019 Announce NSMB U + Luigi U for spring release.
October/November Direct 2020 (post-Odyssey 2) Announce a brand new 2D Mario for spring 2021 (Since we know Mario Maker is based off the development tools for 2D Mario, that should give enough space for them to finish a new title).
That would space out the Mario releases rather well while being doable from a development standpoint. Thoughts?
My money is on NSMBU DX (i.e. with Luigi U included and maybe a new level or two) being next, in fact being a Christmas release this year.
Wonderful 101 was hinted at but it sold so badly on Wii U they may need to find another publisher.
Then possibly Pikmin 3 (to tee up the 4th whenever they decide to dust it off), Tokyo Mirage Sessions (between FE and SMT 5), XCX (Xenoblade has never been bigger so strike while the iron's hot), Wind Waker HD and maybe Paper Mario Colour Splash in 2019. Then Mario 3D World, Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush, Starfox Zero (once Bayo 3 is done as saving this will take a bit of work), Twilight Princess HD and Yoshis Wooly World in 2020. Then they can get on with remastering their Gamecube, Wii and 3DS back catalogues.
Mario Maker I think will get a proper sequel. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Deluxe NES Remix and a Pullblox collection at some point too.
I think New SMB is unnecessary if they can do Super Mario Maker.
I don't agree, unless they'd add a local multiplayer (co-op simultaneously up to 4p as in NSMB) to Mario Maker. Local co-op is one of the features that make NSMB a good franchise imho.
Super Mario Maker did single player better, 3D World did multiplayer better. I don't think New SMB has much of a reason to exist anymore. And even if they were to do it there's nothing particularly special about New SMB U that I'd want a port of it.

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
@skywake What New SMB U did better was it's accessibility. I could drag anyone into that game, no matter how little gaming experience they had, and they'd enjoy it. 3D World was definitely the next step up, but adding in the third dimension required some level of video game experience for them to get it I found. Also, unpopular opinion, but NSMB U & Luigi U had some of the finest 2D platforming of the last few generations. Only games I can think of above it would be the two DKs and Rayman Legends. It's one, huge flaw is it's horribly bland art direction.
Personally I'm hoping we start seeing NeoGeo Pocket games getting ported over to the Switch sometime soon. As much as I love the current wave of console SNK titles hitting the Switch, my hardcore handheld side is craving some of the best handheld beat-em ups ever made (Capcom Vs. SNK: Match of the Millennium anyone?)

I don't think a Xenoblade X port is coming until 2019. The Xenoblade 2 DLC isn't completely out and I'm sure Nintendo would want to ride the Xenoblade 2 train until all the DLC is released.
I'd buy the crap out of a port, but it would require a lot of waiting.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill

Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
I think late 2018 is possible for XCX but depends on when the XC2 story DLC arrives. See how Nintendo decided to put a 2 month gap between FE Warriors Awakening DLC and Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition in the west for example.
Because I haven't played them:
1. Paper Mario: Color Splash
2. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
Because it's a 10/10 in my book, more people need to play it, and I would double-dip on:
3. Xenoblade Chronicles X
Because they're a 10/10 and more people need to play them, but I'd rather have a new game/sequel:
4. Super Mario Maker
5. Super Mario 3D World
6. New Super Mario Bros. U + New Super Luigi U
7. Yoshi's Woolly World
Finally, special case because only Pikmin 3 was an original Wii U title, but I'd pay full price for this:
8. Pikmin HD Trilogy
I don't think Game & Wario is possible on Switch. That's pretty much bound stay Wii U exclusive. I personally would love to get a new WarioWare D.I.Y. game-maker anyway.
And Starfox Zero needs a crazy amount of re-programming and re-designing. If they'd ever port it to Switch, it would be a fundamentally different game. Apart from the few slow mini-robot computer-hacking sections I enjoyed the game. They shouldn't bother porting a game that depends so much on Wii U's features and rather make a sequel instead that's made for Switch from the ground up.
Yoshi's Woolly World - Never brought this for the Wii U as I think at the time NX rumours began to surface.
Super Mario Maker - See above comments!
Metroid Prime Trilogy - The appetiser to Metroid 4
Red Dead Redemption - Absolutely loved this game on PS3
GTA 5 - Well it's been ported to everything else why not the Nintendo Switch!!
COD: Modern Warfare Remaster - Redux on the Wii was good, been remade for PS4 & XB1
Fallout 3 or 4 - With a great Skyrim Port under their belts why not?
Mass Effect Trilogy - Well 3 was on Wii U which was mystifying, but it's EA!
Vanquish - Ace game on PS3, It's Platinum they seem to get on with Nintendo!
Super Mario Maker did single player better, 3D World did multiplayer better. I don't think New SMB has much of a reason to exist anymore. And even if they were to do it there's nothing particularly special about New SMB U that I'd want a port of it.
So you're argument for NOT getting a 2D co-op Mario game consists of:
1) Another 3D Mario does multiplayer better and
2) Another 2D Mario does singleplayer better?
Sorry, but that doesn't really make sense to me... You're actually supporting my argument: there is room for the game where 2D and multiplayer are best combined.
edit: the fact that so many people here are asking for a NSMB port or sequel, kind of proves that the game is not obsolete. Furthermore, I fully agree with @link3710.
Wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo decides to bring over Super Mario 3D World to the Switch, though they may have to replace the stamps with just green stars, since the stamps were for Miiverse. They'd have to somehow change the levels where the touch screen is required, as well
"Give yourself the gift of being joyfully you."

Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
I'm almost sure that Nintendo is gonna stop these Wii U ports... To much bad publicity !
Another thing, when they have launched the Switch they had nothing really ready in term of games... All those wii U ports were there to win time... this time was crucial to have the time to finish the "real" Switch games.
I think (and hope) 2019 will be 10 times better than 2018.
