@Meowpheel Honestly if they could at least port Islands from that game I'd be pretty happy. Launching Fronks with friends was great.
Personally I think the only Wii U game left that should be ported is Mario Maker. The Wii U has some other great titles but I think Mario Maker is the only one that would really benefit from an enhanced port.
I think Pikmin 3 has a good chance of being ported. Add in the DLC and maybe add some extra Nintendo themed stages and they could call it a deluxe version.
Pikmin 4 is coming to the Switch at some point, so they might as well get the name out there to get new people interested.
@1UP_MARIO Seeing Okami HD on the Switch with portable mode only touch controls gave me hope for Mario Maker. I think they could easily have an unlocked creation mode. I think it would be possible to have the creation mode available docked too, it would just be much more tedious.
With Captain Toad confirmed, I think the next will be 3D World as the issues behind a 3D World port would've been the exact same issues behind a Captain Toad port.
@1UP_MARIO It also really needs Miiverse, but that's gone. With Nintendo charging for online soon, there's no excuse for not having a better replacement service.
As for the next game, throw a dart. There's more coming, that's for sure. I think they'll port:
Mario Maker
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
NSMBU and NSLU
The Wonderful 101
Yoshi's Woolly World
Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush
Art Academy
Super Mario 3D World
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Paper Mario: Colour Splash
Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water
I'm sure Miyamoto is smarting over Star Fox Zero. I bet he wants that to have another chance, this time with proper controls. And there are other games that escape me right now.
This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
I'm gonna guess that either Wonderful 101 or Tokyo Mirage Sessions will launch in August alongside the new Yoshi game. Then we'll see NES Remix Pack in November to take the Snipperclips Plus slot.
I guess either Tokyo Mirage Sessions or Xenoblade X. Both are great games, well rated, but that were affected negatively by being on the Wii U. Both are a time sink for players, so they are great at plugging any holes Nintendo may have in their launch calendary.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we'll see announcements in the following order:
2018 release
Wonderful 101
New Super Mario Bros U + Luigi U
2019 release
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Super Mario 3D World
Shin Megami Tensei #FE
2020 Release
Yoshi's Wooly World
With Captain Toad confirmed, I think the next will be 3D World as the issues behind a 3D World port would've been the exact same issues behind a Captain Toad port.
Now that you mention it, it would've been the perfect 2-game collection. Super Mario 3D World + Captain Toad.
I'm surprised that Color Splash and (especially) Mario Maker haven't been ported by now. I'm also expecting an iteration of Wii Fit/U (Switch Fit?) at some point. The game could feature exercises at home and on the go - a perfect... ahem fit for the Switch.
