Nintendo's Labo line of interactive construction toys launched on Switch last year in April, and with its newest entry, the VR Kit, it's now completed the initial lineup we saw in its reveal trailer. So far, 1.5 million Kits were sold worldwide, not bad for its first year.
Okay, so the initial Toy-Con we saw last January are now all released, and Nintendo was happy with the reception so far. So, now what? Nintendo said they'll continue Labo in the future, but to what extent remains to be seen. I think sometime this month or next, Nintendo will put out a teaser for Labo "Series 2" showing the new wave of kits coming over the next year or so, with the first 1 or 2 arriving in August and October, that way they have something for the series in time for the Holidays.
Labo's a really cool concept, and I'm interested in seeing what else Nintendo will do with it in the future as it still has a ton of potential left to be explored.
No real use of the Switch in it - you just make giant cardboard dinosaurs that you can climb inside and make ROARing noises really loudly at the top of your voice.
I would be really interested to know what happened to the FULL VR labo kit. The only thing that is for sale here in the US is the VR starter set.
I keep checking amazon, best buy and walmart and cannot see that the full VR set has ever gone on sale! Even on ebay, the only ones available are from Japan for the most part. Did the full VR set ever get a proper launch in the United States? I know reviewers received it but I've never seen it officially on sale.
@TheBlurB I have the starter kit and I didn’t know about the full kit or the expansions until I booted up the game. I’m good with what I have though, and I want Labo 5!
Heigh Ho Heigh Ho. It’s off to work (from home) I go.
