@gcunit Don't think there are. As with any new hardware, they're often silent when they come out of the box, when they gather some dust, they can get noise. I assume that the same will be true for the Switch. Since we don't really have an example of an ''old'' Switch unit, it's difficult to tell, and the hands-on events were probably too noisy to notice anything to begin with.
Fair enough! Good news about that vc thing though. Yeah it Sucks that you'd need both versions to qualify, but it's a step up from before. So props to them if it's true
@rallydefault
I'm starting to get worried about how much I've been agreeing with you recently. Anyways, you're right on the money about the Joycons. People are looking at the price of them as if a pair is for a single player. For some games that's true. But for pretty much any game that has more than two players it's almost certainly not.
I went through the entire lifecycle of the Wii with it being the only console under my TV. I've always been a Wii + PC gamer. I also had many opportunities to play multiplayer games over that time. But at no point did I ever feel the need to purchase any more than two nunchucks. It was just never an issue. Were there games that could have used it? Well sure. But it was never essential.
The way I see it a "full" set of controllers for the Switch would be something like:
Two sets of Joycon pairs
Two Pro Controllers
.............
that's it
Some playlists: Top All Time Songs, Top Last Year
An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
Here's some footage of Arms from the press event where JC explains some higher level stuff while Nairo and D1 are playing
On a side note, local multiplayer in Arms will be the game where you need another set of Joycons. Otherwise you are limited to online multiplayer and single player.
I thought with their goal being 2m by the end of March they'd ship around 2.5m~2.8m but looks like they went for a clean 3m. Wonder if preorders did this or if this was already a done deal? Couldn't read the full article since the original source is WSJ and I don't have a subscription.
Current Playlist: Age of Calamity, Stardew Valley, ACNH
Apparently, if you bought a VC games on Wii U AND 3DS, you get the Switch version of said game for free.
Source?
A indie developer did a podcast and said that's what's happening with it.
Who is the indie developer? How did they come across this knowledge? Unless they have something to do with a VC title on the 3DS and Wii U, then I don't see how they could know this for a certainty.

Her theory on VC is if you bought a VC game on 3DS or Wii U you’ll pay an upgrade fee like you did ON Wii U. However, if you bought the same VC game on both Wii U and 3DS you’ll get the Switch VC game for free. If you only bought it on Wii VC you’re SOL.
Theory, not fact. She hasn't apparently worked on any of the games on the VC service, with only one game credited to her name. Take a whole salt mine with what's being said.
Some interesting comments from that Syrenne McNulty whoever she is.
*Pro controller has Analogue triggers
*The dock's not just a passthrough. You won’t see third-party docks. It has proprietary technology. Not just an empty shell that charges and passthrough hdmi. That’s why it’s expensive.
*It has to read that the switch is docked, switch the signal to hdmi (since the switch doesn’t have a hdmi port on the unit itself) and then hdmi to TV.
*The free game a month is exactly like PS+. As long as you download within that free month it’s yours to keep as long as you’re subscribed."
*The free download a month is chosen by Nintendo because if they offered all VC games with online the player base would be split and you’d never find enough people for a match. Whereas with this method, everyone who’s downloading the game is part of the same player pool.
I actually said something similar to that last point a few days ago.I'm going to guess there will be online competitions and mini tournaments for these NES/SNES game held during the month too.
@Octane I just got the info from the link @jump posted above.Like you said, some of it contradicts what Nintendo and others have said so it's credibility is questionable.Someone in the comments said she made an endless runner game for Wii U.I think I know the one they mean but the name escapes me.I'm sure it went on sale for 1 cent at one point.
Actually reading again what Reggie said can be interpreted another way.
"“You’ve got access to that game for a period of time, and then after the month there’s a new selection. You’ll have the opportunity to buy it, but that month we’ve moved on to another game.”
I think Reggie has just chosen his words poorly there,he doesn't necessarily say we have to give the game back at the end of the month.Maybe by "access" he just means it's availability as a free download for subscribers will only be there for that month. If you select the SNES game but would have liked the NES game too, then don't worry it will be available for purchase the next month but it will no longer be made available as a free download to subscribers as they've moved onto other games.
Anyone who went to the NY Swtich and Play event, how long are you allowed in the event? Do you go in groups for a certain amount of time and then they clear the room between or once you are in can you take your time and play and observe as long as you want. Not each individual demo as long as you want naturally but move station to station and repeat a demo if possible.
