I've pre ordered a Switch with neon joy-cons, a pro controller and the BoTw collectors edition. Absolutely gutted that we don't get what the Americans are getting with the collectors edition, that case for the Switch looked perfect.
And whilst I agree with all of the negative feedback about the launch lineup being weak, for me personally, it doesn't matter in the slightest, BoTw will keep me busy until my 1st child pops out on May 4th.
I am however very peeved that we have no info on new VC, on if all our current gen VC will automatically transfer to the Switch, day 1, for free.....
Also hearing that for the paid price point of online, we will get a selection NES and SNES games, but only for that month... come
On Nintendo, it's 2017... 'open your eyes'
But all in all, very excited. Can't wait for Zelda! 7 WEEKS... 49 days....
@Octane I didn't get to play anything. Just hold it. The triggers are digital, all of the triggers are (Joycons have like 4 triggers each, 2 on the top/back and 2 on the inside connector) The analog Stick was positioned in a weird spot for the right Joycon.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
@rallydefault
I'm mostly a single player guy, play a bit of Team Fortress and Counter Strike now and then. Played a little bit of Splatoon and Monster Hunter online, I think that's it. Monster Hunter, the multiplayer isn't essential, and I'm not interested in paying more than the price of the game for Splatoon. I'll be getting the Switch, but, as it stands, I'm not interested in the online component. I won't even be able to use their apps for playing games with friends as I don't have a smart phone.
I know I'll love all the 1st party games, and try a bunch of Japanese 3rd party stuff, but 2 quotes worry me today (and I am paraphrasing here):
Reggie: "There are over 80 games in development for the Switch".
Nintendo: "There are 55 games coming this year for the Switch".
...So there's only 35 games we don't know about beyond the end of the year? And how many of them are smaller indie titles? I'd hazard a guess Nintendo is exactly where they were with the Wii U with 3rd party support.
Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?
@Julius_Senpai Analog triggers are superior in any way. Analog triggers are pressure sensitive. Games that utilise analog triggers can't be played on a controller that has digital controllers (at least not without any modification). A lot of racing games make use of the analog functionality, just like some GameCube games did back in the day.
So to play with friends you need a smartphone app? That might be a deal breaker for me, since I don't have a smartphone. How would that even work if games like Animal Crossing came to the system? Would you have to play with complete strangers if you couldn't download their app? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong and you can play with friends without an app.
So my guess would be that those GC games will either not be ported to the switch or that you would have to use a different controller. Similar to the classic controller on the Wii VC?
I'm just wondering, has there been any confirmation about the pricing and other things of the games? I haven't done any research on other sites or anything, so I'm just wondering if these things people are mentioning ($60 games, $50 for 1-2 Switch, etc.) are confirmed or if they are just based on retailer pre-orders. Also, do we know for certain that 1-2 Switch will not be a pack-in game? I mean, I assume that if it was they would have mentioned that, but I never remember hearing anything that it would be only a separate retail release, so a pack-in still seems like a possibility.
@KirbyTheVampire You don't need a smartphone to play with friends or people online. However, you're going to need a smartphone to use features like voice chat and lobbies.

I noticed it said you needed it to invite friends, though. Maybe that just means you need to get the app to invite someone, but you could just click "Join" without the app? I'm just looking for confirmation on that, even though I'm probably worrying about nothing, haha.
Now that you think about it. The smart phone thing is ingenious as anyone who's anyone owns a smartphone.........(looks directly at @KirbyTheVampire...Kidding!) and has their eyes glued to it about 96% of the time!
So next time you won't have to waste time switching......heh.. on a console to check who's on because it's on your fingertips!
Just like the switch and the presentation itself though, we need more information especially on how this will all work.
