@KirbyTheVampire I don't see why not. Only Amazon in the US has the problem with Nintendo due to the 3DS price drop. You could also probably preorder from EB, and Best Buy as well.

Oh okay, good to know. Thanks brah.
Yea, I'm probably going with Best Buy. I want to be able to pick it up in-person, too.
@IceClimbers Have they? I know that they weren't selling the Wii U GC adapter except via third party sellers but that was the last major thing I looked to buy from them. I know my Wii U I had to preorder from Best Buy because of Amazon and Nintendo's problem.

I must say this is the first Nintendo console that I can say I don't give a **** about. After the disaster that was the Wii U, poor marketing of things such as the NES Classic, Amiibos and other Nintendo products, and I am not the least bit excited. This will be the first Nintendo Console I won't be buying at launch and honestly that doesn't bother me.
It's really sad to see how Nintendo has become a former shell of itself.
Couldn't have said it better myself. As someone who has been with Nintendo since 1985, it really is sad to see how the mighty have fallen. I would love for the Switch to be a success and am hoping for it....but I'm not aboard any 'hype' train. I might be half crazy, but I'm not delusional.
Games like Other M and Federation Force speak for themselves.
Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival and Happy Home Designer are NOT the Animal Crossing games I want.
Where the eff is F-Zero?
I'm not a big Smash fan or Splatoon fan....basically i'm not a fan of any online multiplayer game....(except Monster Hunter).
Where is Street Fighter on my Wii U????
Xenoblade Chronicles X was, imo, terrible compared to the awesome original. I loved the original so much that I find it my favorite RPG of all time now, surpassing the excellent Chrono Trigger.
Oh yeah, and Nintendo's inability to keep up with their supply/demand issues (looking at amiibo and NES Classic dead in the face).
Where the hell are SEGA Genesis games on the Wii U Virtual Console?
Why are NES games on the Virtual Console so dark and lame looking?
Why is the Wii VC have a better library than the Wii U????
@bezerker99
I agree with most of that, ESPECIALLY the stuff like Happy Home Designer and all that. It seems like they are super out of touch in a few regards.
So I was watching Derrick's F-Zero X pre-Switch Presentation livestream, and it made me think of how great the Joy-Cons will be for local multiplayer VC games.
I posted this in the wrong section and was directed to this thread, so you may have seen this column somewhere else in the forum. I'm mentioning that because I wanted to let you know that I'm not trying to double post, I'm just reposting in the right spot. Thanks for reading, and here we go:
I have reason to believe in the possibility of the Switch becoming a dark horse during this generation. Allow me to explain. I've recently come to recognize something about the console's teaser trailer that sparked my intrigue. Everything about the trailer spoke to the core gamer, from the AAA software to the mature design of the hardware. It was an indication that Nintendo isn't pursuing a new audience this time around, and what I mean by that is that the company isn't looking to pursue non gamers. At least not with the Switch. Nintendo has come to set their eyes on a lucrative market that already exists. A market that the company has helped to create. And ironically more than half of that market now belongs to Sony and Microsoft, but that may change.
Strangely in contradiction to quotes from Kimishima and the late great Satoru Iwata, many are speculating that Nintendo, unable to go after the company's competitors, will be looking for a Wii-like way into the market. And many of those critics have been hoping to be proven wrong by the revelation of a standardized PS4/XB1 esque console from the company. But what if there was a way for Nintendo to breach Sony and Microsoft's user bases, without challenging them head on?
This is what i believe will be the mission of the Switch. Contrary to what many misguided journalists want you to believe, the Switch has the tools necessary to build its own core audience. And if Nintendo can secure the right exclusives and proper software momentum for the console, there's no reason to believe that more than a handful of core gamers won't be looking in the company's direction. And once that happened, the Switch would become a more than competent third player in the core market. Here's to hoping.
I'm going to be waking up at 3am and continuing 100% colorization in Color Splash while having the stream live chat open. Hoping I can get the 100% colorization before the presentation starts (only have 7 levels left).
Why is the Wii U's hard drive just a measley 32 GB? No where near enough space.
Nintendo TVii - no comment needed, just another waste of resources there.
My Nintendo is a joke.
Has Nintendo ever seen a PSN Flash Sale before? They'll never be able to give sales like Sony does.
Nintendoland, imo, was an awful launch title that was packaged in with the Wii U console..
No Zelda game anywhere during the Wii U's lifespan, unless you want to count Hyrule Warriors, which is really a skin of Koei Warriors (or whatever it is called) and....BotW coming out 5 years too late.
I have to pay to upgrade the VC games I've already bought? What?
My Gamepad refuses to go more than 10 feet from my console - no wonder the Switch looks like Wii U version 2.0
I know people still to this day who have no idea what a Wii U is.
Oh, and where was Metroid for the Wii U? It was nowhere to be found. I realize there are rumors about Metroid coming to Switch and that would be great, except the last two Metroid titles were complete garbage.
So I was watching Derrick's F-Zero X pre-Switch Presentation livestream, and it made me think of how great the Joy-Cons will be for local multiplayer VC games.
I am worried about the comment about the Switch will have loads of accessories means you will have to buy specific controllers for certain VC titles.
@rallydefault I am upset on what they have become and ignore the things that people have been telling them what to do to turn things around for them. They need to open themselves up more like Sony to third party developers instead of treating them like ****. Put out enough supply to meet demands, stop with gimmicks like motion controls and touch screen controllers. Bring the Metroid, Fzero games that people want. I mean if Mario Kart and Smash can have a generational release why can't Fzero or Metroid? And those aren't two obscure I.P.s either.
It's just that Nintendo has lost touch with gamers and such, the only ones that support them are mindless fanboys who can't see their errors, but I guess that's the only people Nintendo cares about anymore. Not like they did back in the 16 bit era.

@Tasuki To be fair, Nintendo have been pretty open to third parties in recent years, forming collaborations for Smash, Pokken, Hyrule Warriors, etc. The Wii U's poor sales are probably to blame for poor third party support.
Still, I do think Nintendo need to change their outlook on a few things, but to me things are looking hopeful with the Switch. I guess we'll have a much clearer idea tomorrow.
