That tweet by Image & Form saying "'Nintendo are definitely not skimping on power" comes to mind.I realise they're an indie dev and their games are not exactly graphic intensive but if this report is true then they most certainly are skimping on power.Weaker than the Shield?Surely not!
@Whitewatermoose Yeah I definitely wasn't specifying you there, just for clarity. Just in general. If anyone is literally fuming about specifications for a gaming system then I think my first post suffices, I don't have any words if they are also over 7 years old.
I've been to Neogaf so I know how sad this sorta thing can be. Not just anger filled meltdowns but people relishing in anticipation of others' assumed eventual disappointment once this is maybe confirmed.

read it as "not skimping on power... For an handheld."
@Shinion The fact that people get so fired up about this? Tells me that they at least care about Nintendo, and that's important. If no one cared about Nintendo, they wouldn't bat an eye about stuff like this.
At the end of the day, what matters is the games that come to it. I always only expected Nintendo games, indies, and moderate 3rd party support (mostly Japanese).
@Whitewatermoose Porting the 3DS version of DQXI makes no sense when the PS4 version runs on UE4, which the Switch is confirmed to support. PS4 version is much easier to port over.
I'm going to be fascinated by the Nintendo stocks' response to Switch after Jan 12.
I wonder if third party support is Skyrim HD, or if it is a 360 port?
The other rumor just starting to go around based on today's rumor is DQXI Switch is not a PS4 PORT, but an up port of the 3DS version. Probably just a knee jerk reaction to today's news. But I thought I would share.
People have been saying that for months. It isn't likely though, since switch's architecture and engine support are pretty much the same as the ps4. And using the same assets as 3ds would look horrible on the switch.
It isn't like DQ looked like it pushed the ps4 either.
@Octane There's a difference, kinda massive at that, between: "oh I thought it could be better than that" and actual comments I've seen on this topic: "lol Nintendo hardware is such a joke look forward to Mario Party 12, Animal amiibo filler 2 and more MiyaNOto gimmick projects. Nintendo's hardware designers belong in the grave with Iwata."
I don't think those comments were born out of care or love lmao.
@Whitewatermoose Well, that's something I argued too when I still thought the NX was a handheld (turns out, it kinda is). The Switch architecture is the same as 3DS, so a 3DS port would be easier if it weren't for the dual screen set-up.
@MumboJumbo Well graphically it looks superb but after today's rumours and the fact the devs don't even have a dev kit yet,it probably wont look as good as that in the end.It does look to be pretty far into development though so if the Switch is easy to port to,we might not have to wait too long.

the only thing they have in common architectural wise is ARM, and that is by far the easiest part to port. You only need to recompile the source to match the right CPU.
Interesting read. This guy thinks the Seasons of Heaven devs are not to be trusted.I did find it a little suspicious myself that this unheard of dev was able to announce and reveal the very first Switch exclusive. The fact they've not even got a dev kit or possibly even had contact with Nintendo kind of reveals why they've been able to show it off.
@Therad Well of course, a PS4 port would be a lot easier at this point, especially given how the game doesn't look like it's going to be a very taxing game, granted it does look good, but the Switch should be able to run it.

The footage in the trailer was of the remaster. Also the remaster isn't very graphically intensive at all. It is one of the only games that runs at native 4K on the PS4 Pro. If the port is decent they shouldn't have too much trouble getting it to run at 720p in portable mode.
