@JaxonH I imagine it'll alternate so like:
2018 - MH World
2019 - MH World Iceborne
2021 - MH Rise
2022 - MH Rise Ultimate
2023 - MH PS5/Series X
2024 - MH PS5/Series X Ultimate
2025 - MH Next Switch
2026 - MH Next Switch Ultimate
...etc. where "Next Switch" is either the rumoured Switch Pro that is dominating Nintendo news cycles nowadays or a successor if the former doesn't eventually act as a successor.
@Grumblevolcano
Agreed. That’s pretty much going to be the cycle moving forward.
Which is incredible because it means I’ll be getting some type of new MH content every year, both for consoles and for portables and everything in between. Not to mention spin-offs like MH Stories 2, which looks insanely good.
But I’ve got to be honest here – I don’t know how I’m going to feel about playing monster Hunter without the wirebug, palamutes and wyvern riding moving forward. Like, these 3 aspects have completely revolutionized the series. It sounds simple, right? It doesn’t sound like a big deal at all. Those mechanics are such a game changer that I genuinely wonder how it would feel to go back to playing Monster Hunter without them.
I know the wire bug was never intended to be a permanent mechanic of the series moving forward, just like hunter arts were unique to Generations and the clutch claw and slinger were unique to World. But these additions are so good, so revolutionary, not including them in every single game moving forward is going to feel like a major misstep.
And part of me thinks, maybe they will. But then I remember the console entries are narrowly focused on realism to the extent the weapon designs suffered in World. I can’t envision them putting the more fanciful wirebug in the next major console game focusing on realism. Plus it’ll probably have its own unique mechanic anyways.
But I’ll say this – if this truly is the only entry in the series that has the wirebug, I’ll probably keep coming back to this game the rest of my life. It’s just that good. The palamutes- I’m sure those will carry forward, and even the wyvern riding and ability to swap skills to customize your moveset. So, as long as they do that, I think I can get past not having the wirebug, but it will take some time to adjust.

@Grumblevolcano yes i can see the Monster Hunter franchise alternating like that
2018:Monster Hunter World
2019:Monster Hunter World:Iceborne
2021:Monster Hunter Rise
2022C port of Monster Hunter Rise e Monster Hunter Rise:Airborne
2023:gen 6 Monster Hunter on PS5 e Xbox Series X
2024: expansion version of gen 6 Monster Hunter on PS5 e Xbox Series X
2025: portable Monster Hunter game gen 6 on Switch sucessor
2026ortable Monster Hunter game gen 6 on Switch sucessor Ultimate/expansion version of the game.
@JaxonH considering Palicoes is in the franchise since it introducion, problaby the next home console Monster Hunter game is gonna feature both Palico and Palimute.
@IceClimbers considering that Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 is gonna use severals ideias that Nintendo dint used during Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, like Link right arm morphing to different itens, maybe that mysterious skeleton hand found on Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 teaser could make Link arm morph into some kinda of Kookshot and others classic Legend of Zelda item/equipaments?
@IceClimbers
That would be great. I think Zelda was a slower paced game where climbing kind of fit the role of going anywhere and challenging your skills with your stamina. And the sail cloth was the single best aspect of the game. But I’m sure they could make it even better with a hook shot. Just so long as it doesn’t make Link too powerful.

Welp, looks like North America might not be getting a free Nintendo switch online week trial for March (unless it’s announced tomorrow). Sorta makes no sense when they have given us a free trial every month.🤔
For awhile now we've know March 31st is the final day but we now have a more specific idea of the time when the delistings are happening, Super Mario Bros. 35 has a new Special Battle which ends at 7:59am UK time on April 1st so it seems likely that the delistings are happening at midnight PT/3am ET/8am BST/etc. on April 1st.
I've got a copy of PD remake sitting on my shelf, haven't fired it up yet. (Think I'll do that today after work, since I've had my fill of Dragon Quest X.) But I'm looking forward to how well the developer handles the Zwei remake they're scheduled to release sometime this year. I continue to hold on to the hope that Sega gives Forever Entertainment the okay to remake Saga as well.
[OT] P.S. - So I played through the offline portion of DQX, and played a few hours of the online portion as well. I like the game a lot and the ability to have played the little I did play checks off one of those bucket list items for me. But I can't take a deep dive into the game. The language barrier is too much and although Nawaria's playthrough helps, the pace at which she plays the game is much too slow for my liking.
The game's roughly eight years of content would take twice as long to get through at the rate she plays.
And I have one or...two...other games I'd like to get around to playing.

@Wavey84 Did not realise this was on sale. Just bought it with my points, so it was kinda free. Always wanted3 to try tis out and see what all the fuss was about even though I never played the original and I know this version wasn't considered the best of remakes. Will be interested to see how it plays even though judging from what you have said, it doesn't sound like the greatest of controls. I fear the sequel will be very much the same if they are using the same framework as the first to remake it.

Is NoA still fixing Joycon drift for free? I did it once back when it became the big thing and it was a good experience getting it done, but now another one is drifting and getting to the annoying phase. And unfortunately my son broke our other left Joycon so we'll be without one for a couple of weeks, but it's still better than not being able to move down at all and my characters always flying up whenever they can.
Finally bit the bullet and ordered 3D All Stars since it's literally going out of print by the end of tomorrow anyway
It's not like the artificial scarcity thing didn't fly with other people because it absolutely worked so might as well. Galaxy in bed sounds cool though

@TheFrenchiestFry If you've seen Mission: Impossible - Rouge Nation you'll understand what I mean when I say that I can draw heavy parallels between that and you.
In case you don't, and don't mind spoilers, the villain takes one of the main characters hostage and straps him to a time bomb. The protagonist manages to convince the villain to let the man go, and he stops the timer with just over a second left.

Persona 4 Golden

Is anyone else in gaming nirvana on dat Switch right now? Last night I played the first episode of Panzer Dragoon remake, a couple runs in Hades, and I would have played a bit a RPG Maker MV as well...but I passed out from exhaustion (work has been kicking my booty as of late). Woke up this morning, played a bit of Full Metal Furies and Gems of War. Things are pretty sweet at the moment, but MHR isn't even in my hands yet, and the release schedule for April and May are looking amazing for my taste in games.
EDF: World Brothers, R-Type Final 2, Atelier Mysterious Trilogy, SMT III Remaster, etc.
Life...is good.
