I'm thinking about how the eshop works on this. Do I get to redownload purchases if I want to play a game that happens to not be on the device itself yet? Can I prepare a synchronise session when I come home off of the stuff on an external hard drive on the dock?
Will I just buy a 256 tb (edit:lol, gb) sd card and be mostly done with it?
I know they didn't mature the eshop for nothing. I'm a digital only buyer, so I'll be looking out for this info.
@Operative
I don't think that comment ever meant that it'd have the same architecture. I always read it as him saying that he wanted to make sure that the development tools made it so that a smooth transition was possible. That he wanted to build the tools in such a way that porting from the Wii U architecture across to what we now know as the Switch would be as painless as possible.

@BLPs + and - are most likely for disconnecting the Joy-Cons. There's probably no Start and Select button. DS4 doesn't have them either; It has Options, Share and a Home button. We've already seen the Home button, the other one on the left might be the Options/Select/Pause button.

exactly. Their strategy has always sounded like they wanted a stable development environment ala android/iOS to make porting between versions simple and easy. This probably started with the Wii U. And it sounds like a strategy an former developer turned president would implement.

Or the other one isn't a button at all but instead is a marker for amiibos.
@Therad NFC chip in the n3DS is behind the touch screen, I imagine it will be the same in the Switch. They can even display a ''touch amiibo here'' thing on screen (I don't know how the n3DS does this). Anyway, they need some sort of second button besides the Home button. Every console has it, so it makes sense for the Switch to have one too. NFC doesn't really need a marker.
I have a feeling digital BC may happen, Nintendo only confirmed that physical Wii U (discs) and 3DS (carts) games wouldn't work on the Switch. This is where My Nintendo comes in, all that complaining about it only being games which most people will have already bought but I'd imagine most got them physically rather than digitally. What Nintendo would've been doing there is essentially a discount for you to be able to play the games on the Switch.
Here's a thought, what if the Mario Kart game in the trailer isn't even a port of 8 but a digital copy of the Wii U version of 8 which say the new contents are released as DLC sometime between November 2016 and March 2017 to treat Wii U owners for once.
Yeah these are crazy theories but Nintendo has to talk about something over the next 2+ months that isn't the Switch as they've confirmed that there's no more details until 2017.
@Grumblevolcano LauraKBuzz has just published her latest article that contradicts your last point. She is quite adamant that the exact launch date, pricing including differences in price for different regions and even the launch line up could even leak before next week meeting, and if not then they will all be discussed then. IIRC Emily Rogers also said that we'd get 'big' NX (Switch) news in successive weeks starting with yesterday's video.
I don't think Nintendo will offer extensive coverage of the Switch, but I think people taking that WSJ article to mean that Nintendo will not say anything about the Switch this year are taking it the wrong way.
We'll know for sure in just under a week but I feel confident in trusting these two, they've already more than proven themselves.
@Operative Hmmm...it has taken off screen play to a whole different level and plays Zelda BotW, MK and Splatoon. Are you sure you can't see how it has absorbed the Wii U?
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
@Shinion Well if the launch lineup is basically nothing but ports, both statements could be true. Revealing more BotW stuff can count as Wii U news, MK8 and Splatoon DLC/updates which features the Switch content can count as Wii U news, new character(s) and/or stage(s) for Smash can count as both 3DS and Wii U news, etc.

behind the screen doesn't make sense because then you wouldn't be able to use amiibos when switch is docked.
One thing about this I need to keep reminding myself of. It's not actually that big. I keep thinking of this as if it's as big as a small-ish Android tablet. But if you actually look at it it's not. Without the controller attachments it's only about as big as the 3DS XL. With them it's a little bit wider.
