@rallydefault
I'm a person who finds happiness in life through a hobby I enjoy. You're the type of person who complains about their job all day every day despite being more fortunate than most. You're a chronic complainer, and anyone who doesnt chronically complain is a problem in your eyes.
It's sad when nobody even defended Nintendo, when I LITERALLY SAID they need to fix the issue and it's not acceptable, and I STILL GET ATTACKED just for saying they responded correctly. That's how desperate people like you are to paint anyone who isnt protesting with a sign as "defending them" or "never criticizing". Ridiculous.
I'm the type of person who's happy with my job. I dont complain. And I rarely complain about games because ITS A HOBBY FOR FUN. If I'm just gonna sit and b**** all day, I don't need video games for that.
But that doesn't mean I never criticize, it doesnt mean I DEFENDED this issue, on the contrary I CRITICIZED IT MYSELF. But that's not good enough for you. Because every last word I speak must be approved by rallydefault, and if any single thing I say doesnt mesh with your own opinion, you try to invalidate it.
Its extremism. That's what it is. Nobody is allowed to have any opinion other than what you personally certify as "correct".
I'm not a Yes man, I'm a pragmatist. I voiced my displeasure with the joycon issue, what more do you want me to do? Chant in circles for the next 90 days in internet hate mobs? Am I NOT allowed to say I'm happy with their response? Or are we ONLY allowed to criticize their response and nothing else?
You're right. We couldn't be friends in real life. Because friends respect each others opinions and listen to try to understand the others point of view, a foreign and strange concept for you. You have attempted to smear and invalidate a level headed opinion by falsely accusing me of "never criticizing". Unacceptable. If you dont agree then fine, say so, and if you want to discuss it I'm open to that. But I wont tolerate you trying to invalidate my honest feelings on a matter based on how much criticism you personally deem acceptable.
I had a $100 Vita memcard fail due to their chronic high failure rates. I didn't berate them online for it. I voiced my displeasure once and moved on. I'm not a chronic complainer against Nintendo, Sony or MS. If I disapprove of something I'll say so, if I approve of something I'll say so. You were out of line to attack my opinion.
@JaxonH Honestly, ya might wanna consider just ignoring a certain user at this point, I don't think it's worth it to respond. Some people just like to watch the world burn.
In lighter news, I'm a little annoyed that Super Mario Maker 2 actually features a cameo of the frog suit in story mode, but it's still not usable. I feel like if any missing power-up should be added, it's that one.
@NEStalgia
That's probably true, but why is it true?
Its true because I dont like wasting time talking about things I dont like. If I dont like something I just won't talk about it. I prefer to spend my time talking about things I am excited for, rather than things I'm not.
So naturally I'll spend most of my time talking about positive things, because I filter out things I'm not excited for. Of course I'm excited for new things. New games and systems are exciting. It's one of the few joys I have in this life.
That doesn't mean I dont have my own opinions, and broadly painting with a brush is wrong on your part also. Did you "predict" my response to the joycon drift when I said it was a problem they needed to correct? Did you predict when I criticized the online as being lame as hell? Honestly, did you? Or did you predict I'd defend it? If it was the latter, maybe your broad brush of predictions isnt as accurate as you think.
And is it really so wild for someone to say their response was right? Really? Or is that just a normal opinion from someone who isnt influenced by emotion?
I think the real problem is, people like you (yes, you too NES) let your prejudice form the lens with which you view everything I say. And because I do tend to not waste time talking about things I'm unhappy with or uninterested in, it seems to you that's the only opinion I ever have. When in actuality I just choose to not have long discussions when my opinion is "I dont like that". I dont come here to complain, I come here to share in excitement. So NATURALLY thats what most of my posts will revolve around, given my purpose for being here. Maybe you all come here for a different reason, so your posts are different. It means you have a biased sample of my opinions, since the majority you observe are the ones I deemed exciting enough to be worthy of discussion.
I just gave an honest opinion of Oninaki. Was that so predictable and extreme? I feel like Im in the twilight zone here. Some people just aren't as negative. A half full glass can also be described as half empty, but just because I choose to describe the positive things doesnt mean I dont complain or have criticisms, just means I'm less likely to talk about them because complaining doesnt bring me satisfaction... quite the opposite.
I'm tired of being painted as someone who doesnt have my own opinions. I gave my thoughts on Nintendo online, and the drift issue. Which were the two big things I recall being dissatisfied with. Is that not good enough? Do I have to meet a quota for things I complain about in order to be validated? How many complaints must I make?
You act like I defended the joycon drift. I didn't, in fact I criticized it myself. I literally just said they made the right call fixing them and retroactively paying people. That's it.
But I'm glad you responded because its opened my eyes to how you dont respect me or my opinions either.
When I can't even say "it was the right call to fix the issue and pay people" without being attacked, something is amiss. Should I have said it was the wrong call? No, they shouldn't be paying people or fixing the issue? They should tell people 1 year warranty and that's it, if it breaks that's on you. Is THAT the correct call? Which is it? Because it seems like no matter WHAT my opinion is on this, it's going to get criticized.
I say it's the right call, I get criticized. If I'd said it was the wrong call I'd also get criticized. Maybe, you and others are too concerned with what I think rather than just sharing what YOU think, and then having a discussion about it.
Furthermore, I dont consider a tendancy to "focus on the things I like" a flaw. I consider that an asset. But even if it were a flaw, would you like to have several members here pick you apart and criticize your perceived "flaws"? Whether they're true or not, that's rather inappropriate. I always speak my honest mind and that's all I can do. That's not a flaw, and I shouldn't be picked apart for it, no matter how nicely you try to phrase it.
@link3710 Double Cherry from 3D World would be my most wanted powerup with it working in the other 4 styles kind of like that NES Remix 2 SMB3 level with the clones.
My point is: Nintendo knew there were issues with that left Joycon, and they should have done something sooner. I believe the potential lawsuit certainly lit a fire under them moreso than any sudden halo of goodwill toward its customers (though that may have played a part).
Everyone just reeeeellllaaaxxxx lol. Really not that serious guys!
Called up support, was super easy. Was on hold for about 40 minutes but after about a 10 minute conversation already had everything squared away. Sent over the shipping labels and I'll be sending out 2 joycon today.
@rallydefault and they should have done something sooner
And I never disputed that or made claims to the contrary. In fact I didn't give an opinion on it at all in my recent post. And I never claimed to know their motivations.
All I said was, it was the correct response, regardless of their motivations. That's it. That's all I said.
Nintendo is doing more than the bare minimum (via retroactive refunds, which I'm guessing they probably didn't have to do), but it also took a public awareness campaign to pressure them into doing the right thing. Should they have addressed it before now? Absolutely. They don't get points for trying to save their public image, imo.
With that said, they're doing what they can to make this situation right, and that should be good enough for everyone still angry about this issue.
@JaxonH Keep on being enthusiastic. The gaming community is so angry about everything all of the time, like a lot of corners of the internet more broadly. I think it's great that you're so enthralled by and passionate about your hobby, and that you want to share that with others. If negative nancies want to call you a shill because of that, then that's their problem. And if that's hard to put up with, then... well... the ignore function exists for a reason.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@Grumblevolcano Yeah, if we aren't limiting it to native powerups, that's probably the best possible powerup to see. I'd love to see the cloud powerup realized in 2D from Super Mario Galaxy too now
It’s a beautiful day ☀☀☀ everyone should be happy. Great news that they are fixing it. I’m gonna have ice cream or I can watch the ice cream melt. I gonna have ice cream
We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
Finally finished Oninaki's demo, it's not... bad. I like the story so far, but the gameplay's not that superb that I want to buy it at 45 lol. I'll wait for like, 10-20 maybe.
@darkfenrir That's about where I'm at. It's alright. I could see myself enjoying it, and I like the setting. But the slightly janky combat, low-rent presentation, and lack of music boot it out of full price territory for me.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@Ralizah Agreed, the few times the music suddenly start up makes me realise it just wasn't there haha. It's surprisingly engrossing after the first case though, I know I can't stand playing their two old games before, so they must did something right.
I didn't play long enough to notice the music, but overall I liked everything except the dodge. The dodge is just... kinda pointless. It's never enough to get you out of harm's way.
Want to play more to unlock more skills and see if any skills mitigate the animation frames after attacking before you can dodge. If that one thing was addressed the combat would be nearly perfect.
I think Im gonna start sharing all my negative opinions for games that I typically omit, so people can see all the stuff I dont enjoy that I usually just dont mention. Going forward, every post in this thread is going to have a complaint or criticism tacked on at the end. Starting now.
Giga Wrecker Alt sucks. Horrible game. Dont waste your money on it. Gamefreak's pedigree conned me into thinking it would be good, but the choppy animation and moveset makes it nearly unplayable. Waste of a game and waste of a comment even talking about it.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
I've owned one of GameFreak's non-Pokemon games, Tembo the Badass Elephant, for years now, but I never really got around to it. Giga Wrecker Alt always looked sort of bad, though, so I never bought it.

My heart was not prepared for the Dark JaxonH Arc we seem to be entering into now.

Yea im with You @Ralizah.. I like fun and energetic, enthusiastic @JaxonH. In fact, he talked me into a game or two in the past I would've normally looked past. For that, he's A OK in my book 😆

Everyone has a limit that's bound to be broken at some point.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
In preparation for Astral Chain next month, I've been replaying Bayonetta 1 and 2. And holy crap, after diving more into DMC over the past year, I've been playing Bayonetta in SUCH a different way now. Before I would just spam Wicked Weaves and such on the ground, but now I'm using manual lock-on far more and doing much more fluid and fast combos, especially in the air. Royal Guard in DMC3-5 also prepared me more for doing better parrying in Bayo.
Plus, Shuraba is literally just a DMC sword, down to like the exact same combos lmao.
@Ralizah Harmoknight on 3DSWare, by Game Freak, is a nice game. Not all of their non-Pokemon games are bad, although I admit that Harmoknight is the only one I've played.
@EvilLucario Drill Dozer is still one of my favorite games of all time, and it's an utter shame it's never gotten a sequel. GameFreak definitely makes good games (mostly) when they aren't stuck on Pokemon.
So, I got the $10 Collective Minds D-Pad joycon cover to put over my left joycon and... it works brilliantly. I'm genuinely shocked. No unintended inputs whatsoever. Granted, you could easily press all the buttons at once if you wanted, so it's never going to be as good as an actual D-Pad, but it works really, really well for 2D games. It even makes the diagonal running and aiming in games like Contra that are difficult with naked D-buttons or the analog stick effortless.
Only downside is that the joycon doesn't fit in the grip with the cover on. It should be fine with most grips, though, and you still have your usual battery life and HD rumble, so it's automatically a superior option to the more expensive Hori D-Pad joycon.
@EvilLucario Oh yeah. I completely forgot about Harmoknight! It was fun. I liked it.
None of their non-Pokemon games have ever really been... substantial, though. We'll see how Town turns out.
