No other hobbies I assume.

@EvilLucario Completion doesn't even particularly mean anything for some games too. Like how do you define completion of MK8 Deluxe? 3 stars on every cup for 150cc, Mirror and 200cc? Beating all the time trial ghosts? Getting a race and battle rating of 99999 online?

@skywake Thing is the only hobby I have outside of games is writing. And I still can't keep up with my backlog, which is really growing out of control right about now.

^ Switch is helping me keep the backlog at bay due to the hybrid nature of the system. This is pretty much where I have been waiting for gaming to go this route in an easy to use product since I was a kid. Enough that I'm fairly certain that I'm exiting the console market for MS and Sony next gen. I don't have a big tv right now so provided that Nintendo doesn't switch hardware format again next go round I just need to them to keep improving on the Switch concept.

Geez If they get to ps4 level in two gens or so? I'll be on cloud 9. I'm sure everyone will be mad that they don't have a holodeck or something though. I can say I haven't bought this many games for one system is so short of a period of time before. Considering there are some very long experiences on the switch (looking at my activity log hurts me....where does the time go?) I'm surprised I'm beating so many games. Gaming actually feels like an impactful hobby again instead of something I almost do by rote.

With today now being September, I figured I'd go through my online games and check out how active they were. Here's the results:

• FAST RMX - Completely dead, couldn't find any matches
• Puyo Puyo Tetris - Were able to find only a few players
• MK8 Deluxe - Very active, able to find matches within seconds
• ARMS - Somewhat active, were able to find party and ranked matches within a few minutes though usually the same people
• Splatoon 2 - Same as MK8 Deluxe
• Pokken DX - Same as MK8 Deluxe
• DOOM - Same as FAST RMX
• Mario Tennis Aces - Same as MK8 Deluxe

Didn't test Rocket League as crossplay guarantees a good supply of players.

@Grumblevolcano surprised by the Pokken DX popularity (don't actually own it but not seen much talk about it) but the rest seems to match with what I've experienced.

I finally found a solution to my Switch's WiFi woes. By turning my laptop into a mobile hotspot, my Switch has good Wifi. Has anyone ever done that before and did it work great for them?

@Grumblevolcano Doom doesn’t surprise me, even on the other consoles this portion of the game was dead pretty much from the get go.

@Alantor28 I can connect my Switch to the eshop using my phone as a hotspot, but it doesn't want to let me play games online. Very weird.

@Ryu_Niiyama Same. Even when I develop a small backlog for the Switch, it never lasts long thanks to the wonderful versatility of the hardware.

@IceClimbers Awesome! VC1 was an amazing experience, and $20 is practically highway robbery, considering how much game is there.

There's a Smash Ultimate demo coming to select Best Buy stores starting next week. Not surprising to see Nintendo rely more on this game.

I wasn't sure they'd localize Valkyria Chronicles 1, but they are! Heck. Frickin. Yes.

Had to test the waters first or something I dunno.

I'm pretty sure, just like how DQ11 went from "Nothing to say" to "Its going really well, more to say soon" almost immediately after Octopath sold well, other RPG makers are doing the same thing.

Switch will, if nothing else and all other support dries up, be a JRPG machine.

And there may be some miracle that leads to Final Fantasy on the thing, who knows.

Does anyone know if the Super Smash Bros Ultimate bundle will get released in the States?

@SuperLuigi111 I don't think so as there's another Limited Edition coming to America, which is different from the one in Europe.

I'd be pleased to see FF15 on Switch (assuming it's technically possible) as I was hard on it in its release but over time just casually playing from time to time I have to admit has grown on me. Story was pretty terrible sadly. Anything else mainline FF would be cool though or even something from the Crystal series.
