Just watched the Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon trailer on the Japanese Eshop. It really took me by surprise just how good it looks ,like the best retro Castlevania you never played.

The amount of really good/promising looking indie games coming before the end of May is unreal. Just to name a few

Yonder: The Cloud Catcher
The Banner Saga
Runner 3
Disco Dodgeball
Punch Club
Yoku's Island Express
Die for Valhalla
Milanoir
Yesterdays Origins
Smoke & Sacrifice
Curse of the Moon
and more .....

All that on top of Ikaruga, Street Fighter Collection,Megaman Collection, Tennis World Tour , Little Nightmares, Hyrule Warriors , Battle Chasers and Fallen Legion. No matter what way you look at it,that's an incredible line up of games for a single month and that's with a Dark Souls delay.

Then next month , Sushi Strikers, Mario Tennis ,Crash Trilogy, Wolfenstein and E3 as well as several more quality indies. This rate of releases will likely be the norm from now on too.

It's as good as it's ever been on any Nintendo console or handheld ever.

Regarding retro, I wouldn't be surprised if the original game have been cancelled. Retro haven't done anything in recent time to make me think they can pull of a grand game. Prime was over a decade ago, and both DKC games are really continuations of a known formula.

They might very well have tried to make a bigger project than they were capable of producing. And if starfox grand Prix is true, the backlash will be immense. It will not matter if it is a good game.

@OorWullie Agreed. I'm still recovering from last year and E3 is going to put me in financial ruin. Switch is a train with no breaks.

"Are they about to have Smash Bros, Fire Emblem, Yoshi, Pokemon, Star Fox Grand Prix, Metroid Prime Trilogy HD, and potentially even Ridge Racer 8 all release between August-December?"

Don't forget NSMBU DX as well.

If they want to sell 20 million systems and 100 million games in the Financial Year this year's line up has to be very strong, to a level beyond precedent.

Though personally I would expect one of them to drop into Feb/March 2019. Maybe Pokemon, or maybe Starfox GP isn't a 2018 game. As for Ridge and Mon Hun, they're third-party so will release whenever Capcom/Bamco want them to.

I'm honestly puzzled why people think Retro could make some kind of uber impressing "AAA title" anyway... Prime was hella bland to me, Echoes was good but nothing too impressive, Corruption was garbage and both Donkey Kong games were really good, but still nothing to write home about. People act like Retro have been putting out one massive thing after another just because they have this weird association of them being a "new Rare" or something (which I don't get either, but I also always disliked the N64 so it's not like I bothered playing even half of their games. Altho DKC never impressed me either)

You have a point about there not being sufficient proof that Retro should be making the type of grand and massive AAA game some people are expecting, but it's surrounded by living in some alternate universe where Retro hasn't made consistently beloved video games just because you didn't get it.

One more question for you guys. If I download the additional download on my SD card for a game like DooM, L.A Noir, Wolfenstein 2 and give that SD card to another person will it work for them too?

Updated trailer of Sushi Striker Switch & 3DS

Wow that really looks more and more like an awful and cheap mobile gameâ€Ļ It gets worse with every piece of news. Can’t believe this is not a triple C indie instead of an actual Nintendo 1st party.

I mean, I won’t judge anyonefor liking it (tastes differ) and I’m all for casual/multiplayer games, butâ€Ļ Nintendo? Really? Maybe it’s just because I don’t like sushi 😉

@toiletduck
Actually Sushi Strikers somewhat looked interesting.
Good games it doesn't always with AAA graphics. Gameplay >>>> graphics.

I read on the Nintendo support page this - "We recommend using a single microSD card with your Nintendo Switch console. If you run out of space, you can copy over all the data to a larger microSD card.
Keep in mind that downloadable software saved to multiple microSD cards cannot be combined later into a single microSD card."

So why is it not possible to combine the data from 2 small cards into one big or something like that?

Nope, that data is tied to your system and yours alone.

@Spoony_Tech Ok ... that is disappointing. I see no reason to be like that. It is not like you need Nintendo account to download that data. Why should it be bound to the damn console?

For eShop stuff I understand but for something that only requires internet connection ONCE ... disappointing

The dream of making a half-physical game full physical games is impossible now because of that stupid console lock. Those updates/patches should be treated like the videos and screenshots on the Switch.

@toiletduck On the contrary, it actually looks better and better the more they show it off, and I'm not even going to buy the game because it's not what I'm after. Fully animated and voiced cutscenes, online play, lots of stages, etc. It's disingenuous to call it "C-tier quality" so soon. Hands-on previews are also positive too. It's definitely not going to have the biggest budget out there, but it'll most likely be a good game.

I still think Star Fox Grand Prix is going to lead to Federation Force style backlash irrelevant of how good the actual game is. Like Federation Force could've been the best co-op shooter in existence and the backlash would've been exactly the same as it was back at E3 2015 simply because it's not a standard Metroid game.

The main advantage Mario + Rabbids had was that Mario games are released so often that the only criteria people have is whether it's a good game.

Here’s the English trailer.

@TheTetrisGuy Everytime that game shows up, it just looks better and better. I'm really hopeful for Camelot to have finally delivered this time.

Poor Luigi, I'd much rather play as Luigi than Mario. Oh well, I guess at least it isn't another "princess gets kidnapped" plot. Still, the story mode looks drastically different from the RPGs of the GBC/GBA Mario sports titles, and that really makes me less interested in it.

Pazzo-TheFool

If Retro is making this supposed racing game, I see no reason for it to get backlash. With Fed. Force we hadn't seen a Prime game in forever, but Star Fox got a Wii U game. Maybe Star Fox needs to evolve, change up its formula. Imagine if it was practically a Star Fox game with laps. You would still shoot enemies, just while trying to outpace your enemies.

@Pazzo-ZaFool The comparison is generally Metroid Other M to Star Fox Zero. I think it's harsh on the Star Fox side, especially as the main complaint about Zero is the controls.
