I get that they are trying to cover different markets. But even taking that into account, I don't think it will be 100%-150% more expensive than the xone. And when it comes out, the Xbox one will be 4 years old. It will be obsolete sooner rather than later.

We should also mention that Ever Oasis, the upcoming Nintendo 3DS RPG also mentions ''video game discs''. Maybe they're just broadening their copyright files just in case. Who knows?

They do that sort of thing all the time, it doesn't really mean much. It's just to cover themselves for what they might want to eventually do with it. For all we know they could have a 3DS successor in the works that is not the NX which is somewhere around the power of the Wii U. They might not have plans to put Breath of the Wild on it yet but... why not cover themselves now on the off chance they change their mind?

As another example of this sort of thing you also see it on the Australian Classification website. Rhythm Heaven Megamix is a 3DS game that was classified a few months ago. It's classified as a "multi-platform game"

Clearly, the NX is a super robot that will pretend to be a console while he manages to control our minds so that we end up being at the mercy of Nintendo and they are able to take over the world.

I think at this point, where so little is known I'd be happy with xbox1 power. Nintendo can make games look great on WIIU architecture image what there games will look like

@Octane eh I think nx will be cheap. No shame in being designed as a family/secondary console, but it needs to be actually priced like one.

@WebHead If the NX is to be aiming for that secondary/family console, pricing is certainly important. However, at the same time the NX still needs something that the others don't have in order to be considered a secondary system. And Nintendo first party games is no longer enough.

If they make a console that looks like Mario's hat, they'd probably sell more than Wii u in the first quarter alone.

It's a home console, a handheld, a smart phone and a dessert topping.

@WebHead TBH, I don't think that market wants another dedicated gaming console. If it's aiming for less than the XOne, I don't see how that's any different from the Wii U.

Also investor thing coming up. Hope we get reveal plans. Then again press aren't allowed I think so not getting too excited.

@WebHead Don't think we'll get any ''new'' info. But these investor's meeting have revealed surprising stuff in the past, so there's a chance we'll hear something. You'd think that they have some concrete plans by now if they're lauching a new system this fiscal year, and I'm sure the investors would like to know more about that as well. There's nothing on the Wii U front to talk about, so I'm sure there are going to be a lot of questions regarding the NX and its launch plan.

with rumors about the NX using cartridges i am very sure it will be a fusion between a console and a handheld. nintendo had been talking about a fuison before they used the term NX.
the controller will probably be the handheld. when you get home you take the cartridge out of the handheld and put it in the console so the extra horsepower can be used for loading better textures and better effects etc. therefore however the console will not surpass the horsepower of current gen consoles like ps4 and XONE. at least not by much. thats how nintendo can sell a console and a handheld for a good price.
any game for NX will be playable on both the console and handheld of course.
i think the handheld will be very similair to the 3DS in terms of design and button layout. 3D feature could be dismissed. sadly
