I assumed all wireless couldn't be used in airplanes until off the ground? Did the commercial show him using it during take off/landing? Or are we saying the commercial shows the Joycons specifically being used while the console is in airplane mode?

Well, Amazon found my copy of Zelda after all...sigh. So I won't be opening anything until next Friday. My daily commute and chores/study requirements are too long for me to game before the weekend now. Ah well, I'll work on story of seasons and some of the backlog.

@BLP_Software LOL I am not even going to go there. I don't understand fanboys. You wanna play the game? Buy the system. I hate most of the design of both the xbone and the ps4, but I have one of each because they have games I want to play on them. This isn't a life or death decision here. However, they act like they have betrayed the family honor or something. I'm so glad that I budget and then purchase what I want like a semi-responsible adult.

Look at it this way. Game did well. Other games did well. It happens. Its a very highly rated game. We aint lording it over em. I'm sat here saying I'm very happy with how Horizon has done (Since that comparison wont drop off the Earth yet for some reason), and it pretty much guarantees a sequel which for a new IP is all kinds of good. But that doesn't matter. Other games aren't rated above everything by Nintendo so, best try and drag em down.

I find most Nintendo fans just sit and say, yeah, great games all around. Play what you want how you want. Oh, something on another system, cool, ill check it out.

But that doesn't work the other way it seems. Which is sad.

There are Nintendo fans who are just as annoyingly loyal to everything Nintendo and bash the other companies for no logical reason whatsoever.

So, definition of most within this context. A sum but not entirety of a selection of a data. In this case our data is Nintendo fans. A lot of them are like myself, who openly encourage playing whatever you want and recommending systems and playstyles and games across the board, because gamers play games. Doesn't matter where. Most of us.

Not all. Most. Over 50%. But never 100%. Because that wouldn't be most. That would be all, or as a whole.

Now with regards to it working the other way. I would say most is true there as well. Though to a far less mouldable extent. I have PC friends who wont ever touch a console but are cool with liking what you want to like. I know some who wont stop telling me to not be a peasant. I know Sony and Microsoft fans who are the same in both respects. However, with Nintendo fans and regards to the comment about it being mouldable, that is in reference to getting them to actually try it out before making that judgement.

If you try and it and don't want it, then hey, that's cool. If you didn't try and it don't want, but have your reasons, cool too. If you don't want it, didn't try it, and just say it sucks, well we have a problem. And as the other platforms are significantly larger with their install bases, there is a greater number per percentile of people in each of those camps.

Returning to my original comment: most does not mean all, thank you. I know people want it to mean all, but it doesn't. It cant. Because then it isn't most. And tying this into my second comment regarding installs bases and the different camps within the "I don't want it" realm of thought and purchase inclination, within the Nintendo userbase, there will be less of them. Just a noisy per person, but less, because there is less of us overall, but it doesn't invalidate my previous comments.

TL;DR - Please read and understand I said most not all. I never said there weren't Nintendo fans like that.

Your TL:DR should have said "I take my experiences from a small and isolated sample size and apply it to a much larger population".

It's as can be expected here though. Nintendo is a knight in shining armor for 'destroying' the open world games on other consoles in another thread. In this thread Nintendo fans are the holy and mature fan base. In a previous thread all PS4 games were the same.

Prior to the Push Square days (before your time) more Sony fans used to roam these parts. Then you really got to see just how 'mature' Nintendo fans were.

But he is right. There are tons of immature Nintendo fans who think the company can do no wrong. Now, he won't outright admit it because it would undermine his point, but there are an equal number of Sony fans who are the same way. And Microsoft fans. And PC fans. It all goes around. It's just easy to play the hipster and point out the Nintendo fans on a Nintendo site.

You could always provide a quote or link to something I've said to support your belief of my apparent loyalty to Sony and its fans.

Look at it this way. Do I see Nintendo as a shiny white knight? No. I also never said they were the only ones to be mature. If you read my comment Id stated that fans across all bases were mostly mature and sensible.

They havent destroyed other open world games. Each one is unique, and offers something different for a lot of people. Those games didnt cease to exist and be wiped from history because Zelda landed.

And all PS4 games arent the same. Thats asinine. No two games are truly the same. Not even remasters.

Look, you may think Im a white knighting fanboy (Dont assume gender or people get Chrono Triggered), and yes my game is coming to Switch exclusively in future.

But do I have a reason to be white knighting? Do I have any financial investment in Nintendo? No. I only invest financially in myself. Itll still come to Switch regardless of how it sells because thats the hardware the game works best on in terms of features.

I have no reason to be a loyalist as many call me. Im here. Im enjoying games. Im applying context to many many things across the gaming space regardless of who makes the hardware or software.

I exist to play and make games. To entertain people via media. To bring joy to people. Do I gain anything from being loyal? No. If anything my Switch delivery issues shows how level headed I actually am as I was on the cusp of saying bugger it.

And Sony fans still roam these parts. Hello. Im here. Im also a Nintendo and Microsoft and PC fan. Even mobile too. Games are games regardless of where they came from.

Some people dont get that concept which admittedly is fine. Not everyone has such a wide berth of games. But I find more willingness to accept reason and reality within Nintendo fans. The others do it too, its just an easier conversation to have.

Or maybe Im just being very glass half full and my underlying sociopathic tendencies are quelled by the nice things I get to say.

@rallydefault I am happily conceding the argument with my stance within the fans. Im not going to say @AlexSays is a Sony/whatever fan, because I dont know. I have no knowledge of his preferences.

Besides, I have mature discussions across all sites. I just enjoy ot more when it can be a universal platform thing rather than one console > all others mentality.

Its a thing with planes (I believe, im never going on one) that during take off and landing any devices you have must stop emitting signals, hence airplane mode, which includes Bluetooth.

You can however use them on a plane mid flight.

The user reviews in Metacritic are just pitiful. It really makes you wonder hoy salty people can get over a game, treating it like its existence is a big offense.

Purchase insecurity is a thing, so I suppose they want to feel as though they need to verify whatever other purchases they made recently.

I know I felt that same thing before, but I sat on it as my personal value for the items rose. No need to attack others for your own insecurity after all.

@BLP_Software Yeah, 10 years ago. During my most recent flight, I was allowed to use WiFi the entire time, even during take-off and landing. Regardless, you are always allowed to use WiFi mid flight, so it's not false advertising at all.

Did you just take statistics? I remember back when I went to college and tried to incorporate recent classes into every day discussion. Little more difficult with a degree in molecular biology I presume.

Regardless, if I were describing statistics I would be describing a poll with a statistically significant sample size, inclusion and exclusion criteria, a list of possible confounders, etc.

Granny Smith who sees a minority in the news for committing a crime and then believes that ethnicity commits more crime than hers also didn't partake in actual statistics.

If people are using Metacritic as a reference point for the immaturity of PS/XB owners... you all realize nearly every game gets downvoted on Metacritic right? A lot of the games that get downvoted are PS4 and Xbox games.

These aren't people who are angry about Zelda's existence or fanboys of other consoles.. they're the same people that downvote every highest rated game because they think its cool to bring down the user score for the lolz. Same reason there's such a great disparity between GTA's critic and user score.

Nearly every game gets a bunch of senseless scores of zero and reviews like 'worst game ever lawl'.

@Octane See, I've never been on a plane and I never will, its a confined space with lots of people in the sky so I'm noping like hell right out of that.

@AlexSays No, I took Statistics alongside I.T. Mathematics, French, Religious Studies, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, English Literature, English language around...6 years ago now? Then Applied Business, Economics and Computer Science and now I make le video games for le consumers to le enjoy.

Isnt it great? And yet I sit talking online and had a job telling people where to sit in retail. In all honesty, I don't remember much of statistics except how to cheat at casinos and Economics taught me how to dance a merry jig around the government and understand why people buy things and how to get them to buy it.

So really, the useful things from school stuck with me.
