Portable Steep? No idea how that will work but okay Im in.
Portable DQH1+2? Why buy both seperately and install them when you can get a portable double pack?
Portable FIFA? Its big over here but who knows.
What third party support there is, is very enticing. Not earth shattering, and if Nintendo pulled a Bayonetta 2 again the internet would snap in half...again. But third party support helps. It matters. And when they say there are no third parties...well indies ars third parties. Maybe there isnt AAA third parties but then I ask, come up with a definition of AAA quality thats universal, because without concrete budgetary numbers, we have no idea where A, AA etc. Comes in.
Its a meaningless buzzword at the end of the day, and unsustainable at that.

@TomJ
No I haven't visited there in 6 months or so.
The thing is, there has to be balance. Like, take the whole storage issue for an example. The 32GB isn't alot. Valid complaint. Particularly for digital only gamers (not so much an issue for physical gamers). At the same time, its not really a problem like some make it out to be (Vita had no storage space and $100 32gb memcards for example) But with standard SD I've seen 64gb cards for like $15.
Or the 3rd party issue. Theres no balance at all. One side makes it seem like you have to have all AAA games for a console to be worthwhile, the other side says you only need Nintendo games. The balanced approach is to say yes, 3rd party support is important for diversity's sake and a robust library, but, it doesn't have to be any one certain kind of game. It doesn't need AAA games, it just needs good 3rd party games, AAA or otherwise. But from what people are saying the system is insanely easy to develop for, so I think Switch is going to ultimately do well enough in this department. A little mix of the kinds of 3rd party seen on 3DS, and a little slice of home console Western 3rd party support.
That's what's missing nowadays... balance. It's either one extreme or the other

What is seems like to me is kind of the Twilight Princess "haze" effect all over again. It looks like the Wii U will try to mask details in the distance with a slight hazy sorta thing going on, whereas the Switch will just be able to render it in more detail. Screenshots also show straight-up more "stuff" being rendered at a distance, too.
But you are right - we haven't seen the absolute final Wii U build yet, so we can't say anything for sure. But, uh... you can put me down for betting this will be correct.
@JaxonH
Yea, that doesn't sound like a place I'd want to get my news from or frequent the boards (they have boards, I'm assuming -I don't know lol). But that's kind of the story in many places. My thoughts on that, in general, are that the larger sites do seem to lean more toward Sony/Microsoft, so Nintendo-centered sites (like this one) almost serve as safe havens for people who just want to talk Nintendo without fear of being called a baby. But it sounds like this place has taken it way too far.
@Ersatz
I don't know if you were responding to me, but I should have clarified that this "playeressence" place sounds like it's taken the Nintendo bias way too far. I didn't mean Nintendolife being negative at all.
I think there's a relatively good balance of opinions on this site. Obviously it's biased for Nintendo, but many of us point out lots of stuff we don't like, and it doesn't usually get too heated (ha). But I never feel pressured to agree or disagree with something Nintendo did, to be honest, which is pretty cool.
As someone that at finds themselves constantly on the other side of the majority of this site, this player essence sounds like I'd lose my sanity even trying to comprehend the mental gymnastics they go through.
Also, Amazon officially changed the delivery date from March 3rd to "Friday". It's almost time
@Operative2-0 Sucks that isn't for the Wiiu version. For me it keeps saying date pending and when you go to the page of the Wiiu version,it says unavailable.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
There was no way to update the shipping for my Switch order, so I won't get it until Monday the 6th (Saturday if I'm extremely lucky.) So excited!
As has been said previously by others, 1-2-Switch should not be a pack-in game. This is due to the fact that it would leave a Wii-like impression with the average consumer. In other words, they might be led to believe that the Switch is a console that centers around motion controls as opposed to buttons, when in fact it is the exact opposite.
I'm kind of torn about the whole Snipperclips bundle thing. On the one hand, there's the reasoning that "I'm probably going to purchase a pair of Joy-Cons as some point, and DEFINITELY going to buy Snipperclips, and this is - over the course of my lifetime - probably the cheapest way of doing that (unless the JCs have a massive price cut).
On the other hand, my brother is the main person I'm likely to play with, and he's getting a Switch too, meaning we'll already have 4 Joy-Cons on total, enough to get a couple of other people involved and play any 4 player game. If I am going to invest in another controller, it would make sense for it to be a Pro, that way I'd at least get something new out of the purchase when playing along.
I'm kind of leaning towards the latter option ATM, especially as it means I'll be able to play Snipperclips at once rather than waiting for the bundle to drop, but part of me doesn't like leaving the deal behind. It seems like the Switch equivalent of Wii Play, which was a fantastic deal at the time.
@rallydefault Strangely enough, no. It's (hyper-obviously) a physical Joy-Con set, but it comes with a download code for Snips.
I was absent-mindedly assuming it was a worldwide option, but now you mention it, I think I remember some US sites reporting disappointment that it wouldn't be released Stateside. I'll try and dig out some details.
@rallydefault Yeah... Anyway, here's the link if you want to make yourself sad. No pricing on it yet, apparently.
Personally, Snips is one of the few games I'm happy to have as a download over a physical. I'm still very unwilling to download retail games unless I have to, but in a way I think it's nice that the eShop has enabled a lot of smaller titles to find their way into the world without going through all the faff of being manufactured into a game card.
Keeping with the Snippy theme, the official JP website has some pretty crazy shape cutting demonstrations, as well as a demonstration of 1 player mode.
In essence, I think it's just like Triforce Heroes, in that your 'spirit' jumps from one character to another, leaving one just standing. So, really, you miss all the charm and chaos of the multiple people trying to co-operate, but hey - it's there.
@Dj64Mk7
Yes. I also suspect it won't be as fun in single player. It's a game built around communication with the other player. The appeal of it isn't going to be clear if you just look at screenshots and direct feed footage.
That snipperclips bundle really is tempting. But unfortunately I don't really have many opportunities where more than 2 joycons will be needed anyway, so I'll just get the game standalone
