@Dj64Mk7 Download only worldwide. It's essentially an eShop title, rather than a retail title, thus no physical version. But on the plus side, it doesn't cost as much as full retail game (£18 as opposed to £50 in the UK, $20 as opposed to $60 in the US).
It was probably the funniest thing from the Switch launch event Treehouse session:
I was in hysterics just watching the chaos unfold. I'm think I'm a little in love with the title.
@Maxz If it sells well it will get a physical release. Look at BoxBoy, Steamworld, Fast Racing Neo for examples. Nintendo is not opposed to giving eShop titles a retail release as long as they sell well. Time will tell for Snipperclips
What is seems like to me is kind of the Twilight Princess "haze" effect all over again. It looks like the Wii U will try to mask details in the distance with a slight hazy sorta thing going on, whereas the Switch will just be able to render it in more detail. Screenshots also show straight-up more "stuff" being rendered at a distance, too.
But you are right - we haven't seen the absolute final Wii U build yet, so we can't say anything for sure. But, uh... you can put me down for betting this will be correct.
Well, yeah, no, that's not how it works. I said we don't know anything about a potential difference in draw distance because we haven't seen the final build. Nintendo never said that there was a difference, and Edge didn't notice it either, or just didn't mention it. Using an old source that we both know is outdated (cause they're using different builds of the game) to prove the point we're talking about is a circle argument. It doesn't work like that, and/or saying ''I think there will be a difference anyway'' doesn't really add anything in that case.
As it stands, we just don't know. However, we do know that draw distance isn't listed as one of the differences between the two versions. Anyway, I rest my case, only four more days to release, and I really don't want to go back and forth about something so trivial. I think I've already made my point.
@Octane
Dude, you need to chill. I said we're not looking at the final build, so I agreed with you. Why are you losing your cool over this?
This IS how it works in a public forum - people give their opinions. Deal with it, man. My opinion is that there are obviously going to be differences between the two titles that go beyond resolution and sound. Why? Because of the huge gap in tech, that's why. I know you're getting Zelda on the Wii U, because you and a couple others can't go a page without letting everyone know (again), and if you want to ignore reality to make yourself feel good about the purchase that's fine.
This is where I get to say, "I rest my case," too. I rest my case.

With regards to additional storage, is it worth being fussed about read/write speeds much (or at all)? They're the other factor to consider alongside basic storage space, but I don't really have an intuitive feel for how they'll factor into the experience of actually using the console and playing games.
@rallydefault Don't worry. I'm not defending my purchase, as I'll probably end up buying both versions in the end. I just think those comparison videos are blown way out of proportion. Because of them people think there will be a difference, despite knowing that those comparisons weren't really fair.
I respect your opinions, but all I'm saying is that you may be basing them on false information. There's no "huge gap" in tech for example. Yes, there is in Wii U vs Switch docked, but docked Switch runs Zelda at 900p. Compare the Wii U version to handheld Switch instead; Performance is similar and the games run at the same resolution: 720p. If the handheld Switch can handle a large draw distance, so can the Wii U.

Read and write speeds for somethong like this are not likely to be obvious. The difference will be in microseconds. The capacity, brand and price is more important than the speed. Don't get a non-named card as they are more likely to fail than a branded card. I've always relied on Kingston, others are happy with Sandisk and Transcend or Lexar. Stick with those and you should be OK.
BTW DON'T buy a card from eBay/Amazon/CraigsList etc. that isn't a from genuine retailer/re-seller with a high positive feedback score and total sales, as the card you get is likely to be fake. There are so many fakes on eBay that you really do have to be careful. That bargain buy may not be such a bargain in the long (or short) term.
So tomorrow we have the nindies presentation, Wednesday the embargo ends so we shall get some reviews and Thursday we are on final count down. Today is really dragging!
Let's face it, Western 3rd party developers are losing their touch in terms of gameplay. All they did this gen was focusing on graphics and power more than gameplay itself.
Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

Tbh this gen Japanese developers have just been playing catch up to the Western developers and Ninty seemed to have gone backwards and started producing more 2D platformers where even their 3D franchises were turned 2D or played like 2d platformers. Of course there's the odd exception here and there as with everything.

That's true. Part of the reason I didn't buy a Wii U. I hope there aren't quite so many 2D platformers this time around.

THE BIG NINTEND-O Nintendo Switch games lineup includes a VERY suggestive ‘sex act simulator’
Players who tried out Nintendo's new game left red-faced after being asked to perform x-rated gesture
IT’S the family friendly games firm known for its squeaky clean image.
But Nintendo’s latest game has prompted some VERY rude thoughts in players who have compared it to a “sex act simulator”.
A screenshot from the milking game, showing two players extracting liquid from a virtual udder
The Japanese firm is about to unleash its new Switch console, which is due for release in the coming weeks.
Last week, journalists got the chance to try out the system and were invited to play a title called 1-2-Switch which features a number of mini-games including a bizarre baby care simulator.
Yet players were left red-faced after being asked to perform a very suggestive hand movement whilst milking a virtual cow.
This chap is clearly enjoying himself whilst playing the ‘sex act simulator’

“You have to coax the milk out of the udder,” a source told The Sun Online.
“There were a lot of nervous chuckles and a certain amount of sexual innuendo when we played it.
“You have to sit opposite the other player and look each other in the eye whilst grabbing the remote and tenderly pulling it down.
“This cow milking game is a lot like a sex act simulator.”
A video of the milking game has already hit YouTube, where it has provoked some hilarious reactions.
“I’d rather have my parents walk in on me watching porn than playing this,” one commenter wrote.
I don't know who that game could possibly be offending. Any "innuendo" would totally fly over the heads of kids that play it, and anyone who even gets "sex act simulator" from that probably has a pretty dirty mind anyway, and has likely seen much worse.
