I don't put my games in mine anymore, its just for me to look at for the most part, I did one time and ended up losing them in my home for a week, so um..... bad idea.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

I put mine on a little bookshelf in my room that also has my 3DS cases as well as gaming/anime figures & old Club Nintendo rewards on display.
Most of my games are in a carrying case I used back when I took my Switch out more, but newer games (and older games I pull back out) I keep them in their original cases when I'm not playing them as I mostly keep it docked these days.

I keep them all because I am games collector, I treat all my belongings carefully.
I stored all my Switch cartridges inside HORI card case 24 and I have two card cases to keep all my Switch games.
I displayed all the empty cases neatly like books in the shelf.
I keep my games in their cases on the shelf. If you think you might ever sell any of your games I'd recommend keeping them as you'd get much more money for a game in its box. Plus I just think they're nice to have
Ah yes, the kind of forum thread that makes Switch collectors cringe internally. A shining example of why video games shouldn't be considered art. Would you say...reframe the Mona Lisa Smile on a whim? I'm rambling, aren't I?
The games are your property.
If storage space is limited then recycle the game cases.

I usually keep my cases and store my games in them when I'm home. When I take my Switch with me, most of the time I take individual cards and put them into a case that goes inside my carrying case for the system. Came with two plastic game holders that can hold 4 games each, or 3 games with one SD card.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
As others mentioned, if you ever plan on selling your games later you'll get more money if it's in its original case rather than loose. Even if you're not planning to sell the games, I'm sure you could sell the cases themselves rather than throwing them in a recycling bin. There are occasionally collectors looking to find an authentic replacement case for their loose games.
As someone with limited shelf space, I put the cards into 24-card holders and then store the proper cases in a few copy paper boxes in the closet. Someday, maybe I'll be able to put them all back on a shelf but for the moment this works well.
I used to keep my Switch game cards in my travel case, but I haven't been taking my 3DS/Switch out in public for some time so I've been keeping my games in their own cases. I keep my 3DS games in those Club Nintendo cases though.
